Gun laws aren't the fault here. The fact that he'd spoken to the police, had alerting videos, and I believe had spoken to a psychologist/therapist and nobody took him seriously, or understood how troubled he was is the problem. You can't simply take away weapons and expect problems to go away.

Two things I hate about these shootings are how the shooter becomes infamous and how people use them as the means to justify political agendas.

 

Gun control advocates used the event as an opportunity to campaign for stricter gun control, despite the fact that Rodger bought his guns legally and easily passed the background checks.
Mental health advocates used it as an opportunity to urge better mental health care, despite the fact that Rodger had had a small army of therapists and social workers working with him for practically his entire life.
Feminists used it as an opportunity to promote awareness for violence against women, despite the fact that Rodger killed indiscriminately and the majority of the victims turned out to be men.
Social justice advocates used it as an opportunity to rail against white male entitlement, despite the fact that Rodger was mixed race and a significant number of school shooters have also been minorities (Two examples: Seung-Hui Cho and Kimveer Gill).

Let's blame the object and not address the real reasons, well played! There were so many red flags but nobody really gave a ****.

I feel there should be more restrictions when obtaining guns in America and that they should step up on gun control. Its rlly frightening that u can just buy a gun of wallmart in the us

 

So many warnings, I mean he had been INTERVIEWED by the police before hand.. theres comes a point where blame falls on them. This was not a random guy who snapped, this was a long slow process with all the signs.

Its incidents like these that really make me wonder..

That kids guns werent acquired by legal means and its not like you can just walk into walmart and buy a gun.. theres backround checks and a call to the ATF....

They cant control guns, US civilians have more than the military... ANY military. Hell theres near a million hunting licenses issued yearly in NEW YORK. Thats a pimple of a state with a million plus firearms in LEGAL hands. Think about say... Texas or California.. theres too many out there, a ban or "recall" would be laughable. This isnt a gun problem to begin with, he used knives too... its a people issue. More people are murdered with hammers than firearms do we need "hammer control" ??

 

What's wrong with people? Please do some reasearch before going all "guns kill people". It's just sad to keep reading these comments again and again.
