Not accusing you of anything, but I highly doubt that you donated 25$ just to be "apart of the community" since that's certainly not necessary. plus the massive vouch icon in your signature would indicate otherwise

How to sniff out a scammer?

I donated $300+ for the site, not for personal gain. I'm not even involved in the market...aside maybe one sale or purchase once a year or twice at most.

It's understandable to see the negativity in others on an online forum, as it's essentially simply being cautious. However, not everyone is out to scam/do things such as donating/being active for said purpose.

How to sniff out a scammer?

I don't go first unless someone is overly trustworthy. When I trade with someone I get google their name, sythe, skype, Paypal email if applicable. If I buy an account, I demand real life info, phone number, verify it is real and working, etc.

I have been scammed twice, one was a pretty "trustworthy" person who ended up going out with a bang and charging back a ton of people in paypal (lost $18), the other was a dude who had scammed 50M, but I ended up getting it back, no comment. I always get full info in case a scam report is needed, I rarely accept paypal except from very very trusted people.

Some rules of thumb, if it's too good to be true, it probably is, and be patient when trading, don't rush into something that doesn't feel right, this is when people take advantage of you.

It's not hard getting someone to go first. This influence is at it's strongest when the victim is impatient, incompetent, and lack visual instincts. Scammers aren't getting smarter, the victims are getting dumber.

How to sniff out a scammer?

Whenever some one acts like they're your best friend or something (too nice, too comfortable)

Changes topics very rapidly like they're some hyperactive kid.

"I have to leave in 3 minutes and 22 seconds, but let's do this transaction really quick"

"I have 45 vouches" (all the vouches are people 'vouching' that they sold him something and he went first)

This one pisses me off the most "You can trust me, I won't chargeback, im not like those guys"

"I want to buy your entire stock" (yet he doesn't know what my stock is)

"I HAVE A POSTIVE REPUTATION ON HF (Hack forums)" I get this one a lot, omfg.

I could go on, but I'll stop for now.

How to sniff out a scammer?

Hmm, i have been scammed for $40 by a $50 donor. His prices were a bit higher (you can tell from that) however he had quite a few vouches. You have to be really careful and deal with the legit ones lol

How to sniff out a scammer?

Just always use a mm, unless they've donated more than the trade is worth.

How to sniff out a scammer?

To Catch a Scammer Before They Scam:

Visit their profile and perform an IP Audit to clear them for any possible ban evasion (#1 sign of a scammer)

View all posts/threads made by that user. Skim thru and see how much is spam/legitimate content.

Check the report a scammer section and report a scammer archives for any scam reports made on the user you're checking out. A past scam may not have resulted in a ban if the user who reported the scammer didn't provide the necessary proofs.
