    Financial Staking Guide for 07

Listen guys, 2 many people are getting cleaned staking due to their inability to remain disciplined and to not let their loss get the best of them. This guide will hopefully help my fellow sythe users remain on top of the game.

    Bank Roll Management

The most important aspect of staking is betting within your means. I've read in various poker articles that the key to being successful was to manage your bank roll. (Bank roll = total amount of money you have to stake) The ideal management system would be to stake 1/20th of your bankroll at one time to balance the variance (Variance = Change). If you start to lose, you reduce your bet sizes so that you are always 1/20 of your remaining cash stack. Ex if your bank is 20m your max bet would be 1m, bank = 2m max bet would be 100k and so forth. Altering your betting patterns will lead to you getting cleaned because you will be betting 2 much at one time.

    Remain DISCIPLINED!!

If you have to go take a walk or go outside or play with your dog do it. Keep your mind fresh, it's always better to have some loss rather than have nothing.
If you follow this management guide, i am sure we will be seeing more success stories.

Don't Stake someone with 3-5+ HP lvls higher than you. You are at a serious disadvantage!

I made a similar guide long ago. I thought I knew all the ropes, all the probabilities laid in front of me to reassure my success without much failure. That was my downfall. I relied too much on the rates of success not knowing that the "impossible" could happen. I thought I had enough restraint to control my actions, boy was I wrong. This led to me getting cleaned after I proclaimed myself to being one of the best. After you start, you can't stop. Certain precautions are necessary to avoid being cleaned. What they are? That I haven't figured out myself. I could easily note them down as if I took those steps, but I always seemed to contradict myself.

    Tl;dr Don't stake.

Good luck to those who are psychologically stable to endure gambling.

Ghast, your post was very insightful! Through my money management system i've managed to minimize the swings of my losses. However Variance is an unpredictable thing, its all about planting that management seed into the minds of our fellow staking addicts!

You can't really write a guide for this, as it is something you may know back and forth and maybe when you see an opportunity to recover all your losses against a lower level player, or someone who would potentially be at a disadvantage against you, you don't racionally think and just bet shit tons. That's where the bad luck strikes you, you loose the duel, and you just rage bet untill you're cleaned. That's why there are casinos, people will always want more and when they see an easy way of making money (or making it back in the case) they'll jump right into it without analyzing the situation first, without realizing that even if they are stronger than the opponent there's still a chance of loosing.

TL;DR IMO if you gamble on a daily basis you'll end up getting cleaned sooner or later, this guide might help you not get cleaned so fast, but it can't avoid it happening.

I've had almost identical experiences. What I would do is "safe stake"- which means I would start out betting 500k, if I lost, go up to 1M, if I lost that one, go up to 2m, and so fourth. if I won the 500k base bet, than I would continue betting 500k. This worked great up until I lost 8 in a row and got cleaned for 250M. It was highly unlikely, but the chances were low and I managed to stay in the arena and sell over $2,000 of GP for a good half a year. It's honestly up to you, there's no right or wrong way of betting- it's all the same idea: you either win or lose.

if your odds of winning/losing were 50/50 you could just bet double your previous bet for each loss until you win.

    Losses:
    Fight 1: 1m
    Fight 2: 2m
    Fight 3: 4m

    Wins:
    Fight 4: 8m

Displayed above, you lost 3 fights before winning on the 4th fight. since your bet was (previous_bet * 2) you were guaranteed to break even when you eventually won.

The drawback to this is that you need a fairly large cash stack to support the possibility of many consecutive losses.

It's never 50/50, the chances are undefined. Hits are random and you need to accumulate a certain amount to become the victor.

Yea but the stakes would reach 4b after only 13 losses, and that shit happens more often than you think. I've had loose streaks of 22 before. Probability wise no matter the technique you use at 50/50 what you win is what you put in. Either tip the odds in your favor or get lucky and quit early.

Also many people will run if they are up on you and you just keep doubling up. That happened quite a lot of times to me.

What I always do when I stake is I set myself a win limit of 80-100m profit per day. Once that goal has been attained I stop for that day.

This is pathetic, you either stake your bank or don't stake at all. I hate when people go on x3 losses, and think they will win. No, you can go on 20 losses and lose again, it's all random, streaks don't matter. Don't take if you're a pussy or scared to lose money.

    Thanks, Wolf.

You can't apply poker variations to a game that is RNG based. However, maths states that regardless of how much you bet, if betting is infinite, the person with the largest bank roll will always win.

    >Can't be applied to Runescape, as even if you have 50B and your opponent has 5M, they can simply run after winning 1 stake.

Staking is all luck, and nothing more. Maybe PID comes into effect somewhere, however, other than that, luck (RNG game).

This, only thing that matters is PID and stats. People fail to realize that the doubling your bet strategy doesn't boost your odds at all, because regardless of having won or lost the previous stake for every new stake you do the odds are 50/50 again (assuming both have same PID/stats)
