PDC new skill

so they've released the list of possible new skills which are; Artisan, Astronomy, Forestry, Geomancy and Hearding.
none of theseskills really interest me honestly. but i think ill vote for Artisan.
whats everybody elses thoughts?

None of them are going to pass a majority vote to be implemented, so I'm not even voting.

Just a colossal waste of time for the people that suggested things. RS community may be fickle but they're not going to let a random new skill into 07. I doubt it at least, not a majority.

 

They all suck. Id rather have new quest then a new skill

 

Jagex really is pushing too far. I don't even know the sailing skill yet lol

I voted for Artisan, I doubt I would ever use it, but still voted.

 

The artisan skill kind of sparked my interest, Skillers always pride themselves on raising their slayer level through genie lamps… I think it would only be fair to have them be able to raise a skill similar to skill but appropriate to their way of playing the game.

Other than that I did not really see anything of interest, would rather have dungeoneering where weapons and rewards are not able to be used inside the wilderness, castle wars, duel arena, fight pits or any player vs. player combat areas. Summoning would also be nice but without the possibility of player vs. player use. Summoning kind of brought some life to some items that are pretty useless right now on the game like salamanders, talismans and many other resources.

 

Tbh, all of them sound...Lame. Whats the need for a new skill anyway?

new skills = new age = not oldschool. Theres an old saying for this dont fix what isnt broken.

 

No Summoning or Dungeoneering ever either please, keep that shit in RS 3. I know Summoning was only 2008, but still...don't want it.

 

Why not? Summoning would be the best fit for the new skill. I wouldn't mind the development time.

 

I'd be more lenient towards summoning but it'd make people bot RC even more with Graahk Rcing.

 

People will bot no matter the method. What if the summoning skill was completely revamped?

 

Yeah but that would lessen the requirements even more so and increase production. Graahk bot rcing destroyed the economy for Nature Runes back in the day, I'd prefer that not to be possible.

Revamping it would be cool, I would get on board with that.

 

i do like the sound of artisian, it doesnt look like it has the chance to ruin the economy or change the way the game is. when i voted for it it looked as if it was going to be the clear winner.

 

I mean I like the idea in the sense that it promotes the economy and players, but I think it's a long-shot- simply because of the nature of 07scape. People began playing Old School because they had nostalgia in a game they liked when they were young. I don't think these new skills will get anywhere near a majority vote.

people do know that the term artisan means "making things hand made" tl;dr same as flething,crafting smithing etc?

I voted for astronomy since hearding is simply breeding animals, forestry tl;dr makes trees for wc and geomancy is a fancy word for divination.
