Pyramid Scheme - Vemma Verve

Can I ask what university you go to? Or an approx. location you are in>?

 

This was in my high school in NJ.

Totally worthless. Besides, if you really think about it...what are the chances that eventually somebody will kick your ass for losing you their money?

 

Well, let me say that I was actually approached by a business student at my college in montreal, Canada, offering this exact product. I turned it down immediately as I had prior scam attempts made on me the year before, with another business student who attempted to get me into another cult like pyramid called ''ACN'' which is supposedly endorsed by Donald trump. What made me turn down the energy drink pitch was when I heard almost the same exact rehearsed bs from the ACN kid. First they try and become your friend, then they attempt to ''chill with you'' which is really an attempt to bring you to one of their recruitment ceremonies, where a guy claims he made 100k+ a year and lives on a yacht. then they spring it on you, almost trying to force it upon you as if it's my moral obligation to accept. Anyways to answer @OP, I'd say it's reached Canada.

edit: the kid asked for a 500$ deposit as well for the ACN scam.

 

This is also prominent in Western Maryland.

While i do agree it is a pyramid scheme, there is a difference in the schemes that actually pay out to prior "victims" and those that don't. The truth of the matter is that most verve participants are very clear in explaining what is going on. If you have friends that are willing to pay 500$, you will and can profit off of this. I have friends that have made thousands of dollars from verve. Saying the government should step in and put a stop to it is a little ridiculous, no one is taking 500$ from your bank account and forcing you to invest, make your own intelligent decisions stop telling the government to live your life for you.

 

I'd like to see proof of thousands of dollars made. According to Verves own released sales reports I believe it was 93% of affiliates make less than someone who made minimum wage.

Also what makes it a pyramid scheme is that more than 75% of people make a loss and the money isn't made by selling product but recruiting other people.

 

i have a friend involved in this, hes actually worked his way up..i dont know a lot of specifics..but hes gotten a BMW and lots of dough from this..look up shane sullivan..just type shane sullivan verve on google or something..he tried to get me into this whole thing but i dont have the enthusiasm and positive outlook for things like this..plus im way too paranoid about shit like this.

 

If you read around you can see many stories where the company will pay for a lease on an expensive vehicle to give the sellers a look of legitimacy. They will stop paying though if the people slow down recruiting people.

 

My physics teacher invested into a pyramid scheme ( WinCapita ) lost 200k €

 

I remember this as well many ppl lost their money to me its a smart scam

 

There is this "infinity 100" ponzi where people make "residual income" going around the high school I went to before college. Amazes me how often theae scams pop up and how people fall for them over and over and over.'

 

Yeah, my friend as well is big into this shit; and I refuse to let anyone convince me that it's profitable or even worth my time...

 

Yeah, amazing how gullible people can actually be. My friend actually believed what they told him at the conference his friend dragged him to, before he was even signed up he was already excited about it..

 

Happened in my highschool and my neighboor is a sort of ring leader of my school.

There's always company bought beamres and Mercedes out there and a bunch of kids at these meetings. Kids are so gullible.

 

Can't say I've ever heard of this drink before; must be a USA thing or it just hasn't broken in to Australia yet. (If you're still interested in data, I go to a fairly large university, the University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Qld, Australia)

 

I've heard of things just like this, they seek out college kids looking to make quick cash, quote lame.
