I fully understand, but Jagex could make a system where A) Players can't mark false trades as completed and/or B) There is no average calculated price. All we need is something in-game to organize the trades and it will mostly eliminate the current problems.

Yea I think they could get something to prove the trades been completed and if that proves to be too hard then just get rid of the average price, I'd like to see zybez's shit integrated

    Whats the trading soluiton

To be honest I'm perfectly fine with the current trading method. I mean, there are bots all over runescape, there are thousands of people botting each and every skill, so is it so abnormal that there are trading bots too? It's just a different type of bot, but it's still a bot so everyone that bots shouldn't complain.

To clarify my point of view on this, a trading/merching bot is annoying you when you're trying to sell or buy something, but aren't you annoying a legit woodcutter when you have your wc bot running? It's exactly the same IMO.

Also, as someone said above already, merching bots do NOT get much business because of their usually very high prices. I mean, a bot selling lumbridge tabs for 5k might sell a couple for people who are in desperate need but it will never sell more than 10 at a time, so I wouldn't consider these bots successful.

And the existance of merching bots very often makes it easier for me to get the items I need when there's no one selling them on zybez.

tl;dr I don't think it is that much of a problem

A lot of interesting replies. The recent polling (it can be found on the Oldschool homepage) seems to show quite a divide amongst players. Albeit, a slight favouring to something that works when players don't have to meet up with each other, know each other and can work when both players are offline.

This sounds unsettlingly familiar. I do hope something like the G.E is not implemented.

the current trading method is perfectly fine. no need to make the game easier and flood it with more money.

I am still waiting for someone to tell me what people who actually work and do things outside of runescape and don't have 1-2 hours a day to stand around trading should do?.

I could post on zybez and HOPE someone PM's me to buy my things or sell me things, then I can stop my training and go meet up with them. Of course, like I said, I only play 1-2 hours on weekends and 0 hours on weekdays..Which makes trading some items for me impossible, especially since I am playing in the middle of the night when most people aren't on. So after the 1-2 hours of my playing I log off and have to wait another week to try and sell the same items.

It hinders my progress quite a bit. We honestly need something where you can sell offline..

I also don't agree with the whole "trading makes the game social" argument. It doesn't at all. You're not going to make a friend from a trade. To be honest, I make all my rs friends from clan chats...Most of the people I see training/trading are bots or just don't talk at all. I made more rs friends standing in G,E alching or something than I ever did in a bank doing the same thing, trading or training combined. That includes on 2007

I'm going to go against the grain and say I quite like this idea.

The idea of players having stalls is unique. If they designated or created a certain area on Runescape where stalls could be set up.

The object of the game is simple, the more you play the better results you get, it is the same with trading. The longer you are online, and make yourself available to sell or buy something the easier it will be... As far as an alternative method a few have been posted, but your poor pitiful me I can't play often seems to be QQ material.

Edit: And actually how can you not make friends from trades? Say someone sees your low on cash and gives you a hook up (doesn't happen often, but does happen) he could be your friend?

It would be cool to have like a "market" map where its like empty space with row's and you can set up a shop type thing there... Though some people would bitch because it's not old school enough.. IMO people need to realize that the game is going to change, you can bitch about it all day long, but jagex get what they want... Look at the "nmz mage nerf" it was voted against, and jagex said it was a glitch you could pick up that many runes, and just changed how many runes you can get.

Actually I am not crying about it...I would probably cry if I had the time to play 3+ hours every day...I mean, what would I be doing with my life if that was the case?. I'd be like you and not have one

The game is about having fun, not standing in one place for hours on end trying to sell your items...

The people against the G.E. are against it because of the nostalgia factor. THERE IS NO downside to the G.E. or something like it. The only "downside" I have heard in this thread is the lack of a social aspect of trading..Which is complete bullshit.

Also, the person who suggested the stalls was me...So, yeah I have a few ideas of how to sell things without being there, not just G.E. but GE is the best choice IMO...Also, with stalls the best part would be that you could leave it set up and as long as your internet is fine, you can go to work and come back and see if things sell. You wouldn`t have to baby it
