    Why does Blizzard...

Give people the option of boosting a character to level 90, with gear gold abilities and the whole nine?

I'm still a huge World of Warcraft plebeian and noob. But doesn't this like...destroy the core end game content of WoW? What exactly was the point of implementing this? This seems even worse than Jagex with the Silverhawk Boots or ridiculously easy ways to gain XP in that game now.

Wouldn't stuff like Battlegrounds/Raids/Instances and all that end game stuff be compromised because people wouldn't know what they're doing? Or is the game so easy now that you can just get by being level 90 with good gear?

Like I said, I'm a WoW idiot. I have 1 character, and it's a lowly level 28. I have no idea what I'm doing half the time. SO I could be so off-base with this or missing the point. But seems to be like this is just a quick cash grab that ruins so many core elements of the game.

    What say you, Sythe community?

Not at all, leveling is only a small part of the experience playing WoW. Even if you hit level 90 its still early game tbh, end game is much later.

My suggestion would be to get a legit level 90, and then boost another that you feel like playing with.

How long does it take to get a character to level 90 would you say? Especially for someone just starting out.

What do people do once they hit level 90?

I assume the end game content of WoW is heaps more expansive than a Runescape.

The 90 character boost is ~$60 AU (for me.. It's around 35-40 pounds)
$60 may not be a lot to some people but it is still a lot of money, and I don't think people are going to go crazy and buy 12 character boosted 90's and even so during MoP this may be a bit of a mess but come WoD (new expansion) they are putting a restriction on both dungeons and raids (I'm assuming you know what these are.)
To enter certain dungeons or raids (via LFR/LFD) you must have completed proving grounds on silver - Proving grounds is a challenge where your character is pushed to beat a certain time (Depending on whether you're a healer/DPS or tank) More information here.

Newly boosted 90's are placed on Timeless isle - This isle is where you start to gear up with your 90 by finding chests and killing elite mobs who will drop BoP gear and can be made to suit your spec, class and role.
Battlegrounds may or may not be a mess (I'm not much of a PvP'er) but high end content like raids your ilvl must be 489 or above which is at least 5-6+ pieces of timeless gear, so the person won't be a complete noob entering level 90 content.

People at level 90 can jump into a whole range of things, you have heroic MoP dungeons, heroic/normal scens, you are able to solo lower level content easier (E.g Kara for the mount), Raiding SoO in flex/normal or heroic, proving grounds, gold challenge modes and those are just a few to name, when I first joined WoW I was very slow to leveling my 90 because I thought once I hit 90 there would be nothing to do but I always find myself with something to do on my 90.

If you're curious about more, hit me up on skype or PM me, I enjoy helping new people with their WoW experience. ^_^

I will do that Chloecat, I really appreciate the offer, I usually find myself needing help in WoW.

And thanks for explaining so thoroughly and well.

Really all you have to consider is that getting to level 90 would take you atleast 3 days of play time. 72 hours. The boost is $60 dollars. Do you value your time at less than 80 cents an hour?

Depending on the player and how much time he/she has on the computer, you have to take into consideration heirlooms also, if a player doesn't have heirlooms the time it would take from 1 - 85 would be a lot slower.
I don't think it would be practical to level from 1 to 90 in 3 days, a week possibly but that's also pushing it.

There's no rush when leveling either, especially if this is your first character, enjoy the quests, the graphics and appreciate the lore. :)

That's what I'm doing :p. I'm only level 31 but I've played for months lol. I take my time on it. I'm really just doing quests and dungeons as of right now. For right now that's more than enough for me. Trying to ease into the game so it feels less overwhelming.
