Approval of new members

Hey guys

Just a thought i had earlier today. A lot of ban evaders tend to just create new accounts and start to trade on the black market section of the forum.

What if moderators of the forum had to approve of new members who join the forum and they do a quick audit/ip check on them to see if they've evaded previous bans? That would make life much easier? Only reason i'm stating this is because private server staffs tend to just recreate accounts and ban people of the private servers

What do you guys think?

Oh god no.
That would decrease the activity for new users by loads, and loads.

A lot of users only come to the site to use the market a few times then only when they need to use it again they come back.
Why would we block these new users from coming on sythe and using the market?
Don't even say that admins have the time to do these kind of checks, because they don't.


If this is supposed to be a solution for scams, I can say this:
The only solution for scams and ban evaders is common sense.
Don't go first to people you don't know and use a MM you know is true and request pm's.

 

just report them, it's not going to happen. Most of us dont have time to check like 300 accounts created/day

 

I guess you're right. This is a large forum. Thankfully I've never been in a situation where i have been scammed by ban evaders but it's always being banned on private servers because of evidence they have from this forum
