Muted -> IP banned?

I was spamming "first person to trade me 100k gets 500k" as an experiment - I honestly had no intentions to scam at all. If somebody traded me 100k they would get 500k in return. I get muted and then realize I can't open runescape on another page. I restarted my computer to find I can't get on runescape at all, as in the website. I get an error that says Runescape.com couldn't be found

Any ideas on what happened/how to fix it?

 

i don't think it's an ipban, more as connection issues.

 

Can't be a coincidence they happen back to back. I've restarted modem, computer, used another computer...I'm running out of ideas here. I can access the website on a proxy

 

:O if you really got banned for only doing that, then jagex fucking sucks

 

Probably browser/ jagex cache.
Delete both (including all jagex and runescape folders on your pc and the random.dat file) and try again.

 

I did this last night too, didn't work.

It's morning now and it loads fine. I'm so confused

 

if the sites/client didn't load, it could be from jagex's side.
Today i've had problems connecting to rs3/main site from 1pm-4pm, but it's fine now.

Doubt they would IPban you over a small offence like that, from what I understand it's a big deal when they do that.

 

i've gotten at least 2 bot bans on my ip and they haven't banned me yet.

 

Update is in the morning, everything worked fine. Perhaps they IP banned me briefly as an automated system? Nothing at all worked, runescape forums, runescape homepage, runescape login, nothing

 

it was probably their server or your internet just wasn't connecting to it. i highly doubt you got IP banned. it happens to me too where the pages won't load sometimes.
