Slayer

The second thread in my series of "halp I hate eoc"!

Slayer time and I need the following:

• Course of masters
• Generic set up for melee, range and mage
• Any random tips that'll help (what to block for best exp or whatever)

Got a c-rapier, if that's anything. Money shouldn't be an issue but would rather not use stupid expensive gear like pernix, torva etc because they fluctuate a lot and I don't wana waste money.

 

These are my general outifts for slayer

Melee - BCP - Bandos Tassets - Bandos Boots - Slayer Helm - Berserker/Slayer Ring - Fire Cape/Rhino cape - Amulet of Fury - Bandos Gloves - [Rapier-Drygore Mace or Dual Drygore Longs]

Range - Full Royal/Full Armadyl - Slayer Helmet - Avas Accumulator - Royal Crossbow - Archers Ring - Fury

Magic - Full Subjugation Armour - Wand of Treachery - Griffolic Orb [Can be upgraded] - Saradomin's Hiss

Can always be altered. I am just too poor to do so ingame myself.

 

And which master is best until Kuradel?

P.s. forever 'rhino' cape.

 

Use Duradel/Lapalok to 75 (Same NPC, different name depening on if you have done While Guthix Sleeps or not.)

With your stats, Duradel (Shilo Village Master) would be your best bet for tasks to 75 and then go to Kuradal (Ancient Cavern) to 99.

SET-UPS (A lot of Questing involved with some items).

Range



My range Set-up.

Mighty Slayer Helm, Dragon Rider Amulet, Skill cape, Armadyl Chestplate, Chainskirt and Gloves, Glaiven Boots, Sixth-Age Circuit, Zaryte Bow, Vampyrism Aura, Shard of Zaros (mostly for GWD tasks).

I'd use Zaryte/Crystal Bows over Crossbows. I find the dps to be better with 2h bows.

Melee



My Melee Set-up

Same as my ranged setup with BCP, Tassets, Gloves, Dual Drygore Longswords, Steadfast Boots.

For your stats Chaotics are the best option, however, Abyssal whip and DFS would be your best bet if you don't have the tokens for dual chaotics.


Mage

I don't really mage for slayer as you can get away with doing range and melee for most tasks, however, my set-up would be

Mighty Slayer Helm, Dragon Rider Amulet, Skill Cape, Ganodermic Poncho, Leggings and Gloves, Ragefire Boots, Chaotic Staff, Vampyrism Aura, Shard of Zaros, Sixth-Age Circuit.

If you don't have a Chaotic Staff Abyssal Wand and Orb will do fine.

Inventory

For your inventory for all 3 styles, 10 Prayer/Super Restore Flasks, Charming Imp (highly recommended to have), Bunyip Pouches or 5 Sharks (Optional).

Extra tips

Tbh, I use Revolution while Slaying, makes life so much easier because you don't have to worry about abilities. Also bank Quick Presets help enormously

 

@ Above what is a dragonrider amulet and what bonuses does it offer above the typical fury? Also mighty slayer helm?

 

A dragon Rider Amulet is a reward from the quest, One of a Kind. Pretty much it's critical attack bonus is lower than Fury by 0.2%, however, it gives a Prayer bonus of +10 compared to the Fury's +3.

95% of my current slayer level is thanks to XP lamps so I have a long road to the mighty helm xD

 

Currently on strong helm now.

Anyone got any suggestions for a mithril dragon set up? They seem to own me no matter what I use. Gano w/poly staff seems most effective but still only managing a couple per trip at times.

o.o A couple a trip? whats your mage/def level? I finish entire task with welfare gear lol. make sure you're hitting with earth spell and SS if you have it
