The race for the English Premier League.

It's that time again, the season is drawing to a close and it's been a cracker..

As it stands:

Liverpool 77
Chelsea 75
Man City 70
Arsenal 67
Everton 66

But this is where it get's interesting. Liverpool still have to play Chelsea, Manchester City still have two games in hand over Liverpool & Chelsea, if they win those, they're just 1 point behind Liverpool and 1 ahead of Chelsea. The race for the fourth Champions league spot is also very interesting. Everton are a single point behind Arsenal, with a game in hand.

The run ins:

As I previously mentioned, Liverpool still have to play Chelsea, although it as at Anfield so the advantage is theirs. They've also got to play Norwich & Crystal Palace who're fighting for all they've got to stay up, and Newcastle - Never an easy game.

Chelsea are the only team left in Europe, so they've also got at least 2 more European ties to play (Vs. Atletico Madrid) couple that with tricky away games at Liverpool & Cardiff, and the run in looks far from a smooth one.

Manchester City have 4 home games remaining in which they should take maximum points, and 2 away games, Crystal Palace & Everton. Anything could happen in those!


Discussion time:

Who will win the league? And will Everton be able to pip Arsenal to that all important fourth spot?

No but in all seriousness, I'd like to see Liverpool overtaken by Chelsea, or at the least Man City.

As for champ, that's a tough one to call - we'll see how it goes after the Spanish derby!

I've a soft spot for Chelsea, I'd love to see them life the European cup again, love it.

As for the Premier League. I'd also love to see Liverpool win it, not for them, nor their history or fans - For Gerrard. The loyalty he's shown is amazing, the bloke deserves to win it all, it's all he has left, at club level anyway.

 

That much is true, he's a top bloke. I can't let that blind me though! Out of curiosity, who do you support? I'm gonna rule out ManU and City since you called me a dirty manc ;-)

City have always been my preferred choice for no reason - the Scottish leagues are more my thing

Been a Chelsea fan so gotta say Chelsea But how it will pan out I'm not sure... Just need Man City to slip up...

But you must remember that Chelsea are still in the Champion's League meaning players will be tired and matches will be close together!

If Chelsea slip-up or w/e I'd like to see Liverpool win ^_^

Im a chelsea fan and would love it if we won..Jose did state that this season was not one in which he would fight for the title, but a season where he would work with the players he has an improve the squad for the long term.


Would love to see Stevie G lift it before he retires though

I'm actually from liverpool but my whole family supported man united since forever, So I actually hope chelsea win because if liverpool do i'll never hear the last of it haha. But it does look theirs now.

 

I personally have said Manchester City will win from the start but Liverpool have shocked many and overturned the table results.

However, with Everton slipping up at Crystal Palace and the remaining games Arsenal have I still think Arsenal will keep their Champions League spot for next years competition.

 

I'm a City fan

I watched the Sunderland game and oh my god were we lucky to come away with a tie. We played fucking miserably - it was apparent we were missing Silva and Toure. Toure being the pace maker and heartbeat of the entire team. Sunderland played well on the counter and their second goal was just poor poor defense on the counter by City. Now, that loss really fucks us. We were set on winning league and now we have to hope Liverpool and Chelsea fuck up somewhere along the way. I was happy to see our remaining schedule but this draw to sunderland may have fucked us.

I see Liverpool winning it all, perhaps Chelsea, but hopefully Liverpool. If Liverpool wins the title then they will have a crazy offseason in regards to signings, I'll be interesting to see who they sign. They have a great duo up top and their center midfield is amazing with Countinho and Gerrard. Perhaps some pace on the flanks and some defensive improvements after their Title win will make them a top team, not only in England, but Europe.

 

I do think suarez should suffer another harsh penalty not a dumb fine. The amount of dives he's done which has conceded Liverpool into having penalties. Seems having huge match bans and fines he's still not learnt his lesson and is still a cunt. They've had 12 penalties this season which is 5 more than the average other club in the prem. This player should be banned from English football IMO. Roll on next season hopefully moyes spends big in the summer.

 

You weren't set on winning the league, after losing to Liverpool you were in big trouble. This basically ends it.
