Do we have any paintball fanatics on Sythe? I'm just starting to get involved in the sport. Throughout the night I've been doing some research on whether to get a Tippmann A5 or a 98 Custom. I'm definitely leaning towards the A5 now as it seems to be far superior especially for woods ball which I would be playing most of the time. Anyone who plays - what do you use for equipment/gear?
havn't played in a very long time since the local field was closed and the next one is abit farther out, but got a proto matrix and a proto rail
Great hobby. Really gets the adrenaline going but quite expensive since usually the parks do not allow you to bring your own balls from home.
Last year I played some paintball, didn't really have much gear. Can't remember my guns, they're laying around somewhere. It was fun for awhile, but I just outgrew it quick.
I love paintball, go atleast 2-3 times a month but as Entrr mentioned it's expensive. Idk about other countries, but here in the UK they're stingy about bringing your own paintballs sometimes even your own gas -.- Also for a started gun I bought a 98 custom which did me well, I also then purchased the a5 which I did prefer better, but either is good enough for a starter.
I have a Tippmann 98 custom, its a good starter gun that works well and you'll be able to upgrade. I only get out a couple times a year but usually we play woods ball. Play king of the hill, capture the flag, free for all, teams of 2-3, etc. Just make sure you get the right stuff like a belt to house a few emergency paint cartridges on your hip. I use a green soccer jersey with padded elbows for crawling under bushes and shit. Have you played before?
yea it gets pricey, luckily the guy who owned the fields was really good friends with my cousin so he would let us get the paintballs for market price that he pays, and only charge us for the air. deff could end up spending $100+ in a single day
I'm playing paintball several times a year, however I rent equipment as I dont have stable team which would play like once a week , so it's not worth investing into equipment in my case
Around here air is usually free so I'm not worried about that. I'm meaning towards the A5 because of the vast range of modifications. I've played several times prior now.
Actually bought a new marker yesterday and forgot to buy the adapter for the c02. Realized I forgot it after getting all the way to the course we used to play at.
