studying in a different country

i am interested in studying in a different country, i have an academic degree already would i have to get a highschool diploma in the country i wish to study in or could i just apply directly?

 

No, you would not have to get a high school diploma. You have to take some sort of test in order to be eligible for the University/College you would like to attend. SAT type of test, various language tests etc.

 

Do they all have different SAT tests or is there one that i could do online?

 

I don't know the specific details but there is always a section for international students on the homepages to whichever University/College that you want to attend.

 

Talk to an international program adviser at your college about the study abroad program.

 

You'll be an international student and you have to consult with the head of the university of why you want to go

 

I still dont know which college i want to apply for, i want to go there personally and talk to them, but im assuming i would have to take the SAT test before applying for the college i want to apply for?

 

If you are an alumni of a college, I might suggest talking to that college and seeing if they could offer you a "study abroad" sort of program? Just a thought/suggestion.

 

Yes, i would like to go talk to them and see what they have to offer and what would be best for me, apparently students dont have to take an admission test for colleges in canada like SAT? Just read somewhere that foreign students have to take an english test and provide them with some documents

 

Volunteer abroad for a month or something first to see if you like it and if you go with a good company they can set you up with employers and/or places of study

 

As roary mentioned, don't just go straight into it. A lot needs to be thought about such as economic and social factors. I have a friend to went to Grenada to study medicine but within a few weeks he found it an uncomfortable environment.

 

Money is not an issue for me + its the same climat as what im used to so shouldnt be hard to settle down and get comfortable and in the end its something that i would like to do

 

If you are looking to study in the US, most people have to take the TOEFL exam depending on how good you are at english. If its good, then the next step is the SAT and applying for college admissions. I'd recommend browsing online at state schools first and maybe emailing them to get an idea rather than taking ideas from us as they would be able to give you more definitive answers.

 

Yep, but in the end I would still have to travel to this country and take the exams there because im not able to take any here, i have like 40 different colleges on the list ( doesnt really matter to me which one i get into )

 

Not necessarily true. They offer the exam internationally. Just google "sat exams abroad"
