Who would you rather TRUST?

Who would you rather trust? A murderer or a thief? Also why for whichever you choose? I'd really like to see some peoples thoughts on this topic.

 

I would trust a thief because you will keep your life if either of the 2 would decide to act out on their personality. You can take precautions on a thief such as high rate security. It might be a little tougher with a muderer.

Murderer. Murderer's don't kill for the sake of killing (usually) - and usually take loyalty and friendship very seriously. Unless you by chance fit their victim profile then I doubt they'd kill you off.

A thief, unless justified in cases of starvation or whatever (which Im assuming this isn't), will always be untrustworthy IMO.

 

I can see that point as being a very valid one.

But also, thieves sometimes only steal in order to survive so they may just steal once in order to survive. That's just a missing item. If you trust a murderer, and they decide to act upon what they have before, you're dead.

 

Thief - steals to benefit themselves

Murderer - possibly killed because he had no other choice.

Rather trust someone who has killed for the rite reasons than someone who steals from people.

 

Both these options have "if" attached.

My answers are based on a murderer who DIDNT act out of self defence etc and a thief who DID have another choice.

 

You could say same about a thief. You could go into all sorts of scenarios about these 2 types of people.

This needs to be narrowed down a bit more if you want to get a steady flow of answers without all sorts of propositions.

I could not blatantly trust a thief because generally they are in it for the money/rewards and could care less if they hurt anyone in the process.

 

My opinion exactly. Murders don't generally kill to just be killing, unless they're like serial murderers of something.

 

What if this person you had to trust was a serial killer? I'm assuming that would change your answer.

So it seems everyone has the idea that the murderer was someone that killed because they were forced into it or had no other choice. And a thief is just someone that goes around taking stuff from stalls, etc.

Murderer. Just as Roary said, if the person had no justified reason for killing, it would still be a murderer. Thieves lie and deceive, murderers kill.

It's circumstantial.

If the thief was forced into a situation (such as his family was starving) and needed to steal to survive, not just get rich, then I would be okay with that.

If the murderer had a valid reason to kill (ie; self defense) then I would be fine with that as well.

However, I wouldn't trust a thief if they stole to further themselves in life. Ie; Bernie Madoff

Nor would I trust a murderer who rapes and kills women for pleasure.

It's more about the person for me. Not the acts they've committed.

All of this is circumstantial, and everyone is stereotyping the two.

 

I'd probably trust the thief and become the murderer in this hypothetical world.

 

A theif is just an unscrupulous person all around. Aside from starvation I simply cannot rationalize stealing, muder on the other hand often makes sense..

I understand that, may have overreacted but I follow all that happened and most importantly WHY.

No but generally speaking a murderer DOES have a reason, in contrast a theif is generally just that a lazy good for nothing dishonest THEIF.

Id trust a serial killer before a theif.
