Bad gambling habit

Ok i had to get this out, advise would be appreciated , please don't flam me.

Ive really gotten back into old school runescape for about a week , than boom that gambling habit strikes me.

To get back in i bought 10m , lost 5 at the duel arena , went a gambled away on dicing irc made it into 25m.

Kept getting lucky everyday used to dice 5m and at the end of a week i had 70m , was all happy got all the armour started pking and merching.
Then all the sudden there was this wager up called it lost it boom then raged and lost the other one.

Gf rs , after about 2 days booted the shit outta my account and started a gold farm diced away all that money.





Later started buying money with the money my parents give me for school, diced away with that money.

Btw just a thought : i don't even feel like playing until i have that 70mil again , like i don't know why , is this normal because i had like 20m but i just felt i need 70m to play.

Later i realised what the fuck am i doing , so i one last time bought money gambled away but won and got refunds from everyone i bought money off of because i bought off sites for almost 3$ a mil and if i resold it , i would of lost out on 1$ a mil.

Anyways the story here is , now again i feel like dicing , but i don't know when to stop if i loose 1m just to make that 1m back i end up loosing 50m.

Please advice , is there a thing on your mac OS where you could block a site with a passcode , id have my brother do it.


Update: taking your advice i quit playing as theres nothing to do , today is day 1 went out for a nice drive felt good.

 

I understand your frustration, I was once in your shoes. The addiction is truly overwhelming. Even if you start to block sites, you will try to find ways to bypass it. If you want to quit gambling, you need to quit the root cause, which is runescape. This is certainly not the advice you were looking for, but in the long run you will thank me.

 

So you said you charged back all the gold you've bought after buying for the last time?

Anyways man, set a budget irl and don't include "buying rsgp" in it. Stick away from Runescape in general and maybe pick up a different game?

Ok, regardless if you chargebacked the payments, I'd still like to try to help.

I had a similar issue, and Ghast is somewhat correct here. Quitting Runescape (I did 3 years ago, trust me, it's worth it!!) is going to get rid of your Runescape gambling problem, obviously.

However, in the long run you'll be tempted to do other forms of "gambling" and you'll lose even more. You gotta look on it from the side of Risk Vs. Reward. If you win you might make some money, but think of that feeling after you lose and how shitty you feel and ask yourself if it's worth it.

It's a temptation and all mental. You just got to force yourself to stop.

 

Gambling is a hard addiction to stop - you'd have to quit RuneScape overall if you can't handle not going to the duel arena or dicing. Gotta break the habit that permits you do gamble first.

 

He won the money that he had lost gambling and then refunded the gold and returned it to the suppliers. I don't think he charged back.


OT:

Every addiction is overcome by the users conscious actions to stop doing said thing. Just don't gamble, you're in control of yourself.

 

Nope i did not chargeback , as i said after i bought some money than i kept winning so i said fuck it and returned that money to the goldsellers and got a refund as they have a 30 day return policy.

I did this because if i sold the money they would of bought it for 2.1$ but if i asked them for a refund i got 2.8-3$ a mil.

 

Thing with staking and dicing is that you will never be satisfied. Best thing would be to look at gambling on RS in a different way. Don't put pixel wealth on a pedestal like most people do. Look at it as a way to earn a decent amount of real life money. It's all about self control. Don't be a pixel chaser, it's such a waste.

 

Since i ve seen the amount of money ranks earn , ima satisfy myself by buying a rank and cleaning people MUAHAHAHHAAH

 

I'm the same, I wont play unless I have over 100m in my bank even though majority of it gets lost from me reselling items and trading. I have a terrible habit of buying gold and making rash decisions on gambling, skilling or even buying armor.

I think one day I bought 50m, I got all the armor I needed which was a whip, ss and bandos etc later I decided to sell all of it just to rebuy it back three different times that week and lost like 15m.

I'm terrible lol but the I see it, I buy the gold for entertainment, and I've had my fun regardless of losing or winning so it's a constant win, win no matter what. I probably lost over 2billion gold from flower games back when it was allowed.
