More than likely residue from when it was machined. Clean it well, will also help w/ the voltage drop.

The mod has remnants of the machining oil on it still from when it was made.

 

Anyone got an aerotank?

I'm thinking on picking an authentic one up at my local store for $29.99, just wondering if anyone thinks its worth the price?

 

I don't have one myself, but I heard they were really good They seem to be getting more popular for some reason lately, I have no clue why. I guess it saves you the trouble of boring bigger holes, it's a bitch when they're slightly too large and it messes up your draw -_-

 

I own one and N4N0 has used one. We both would stand behind it 100%. That's about how much you'd pay just about anywhere you go.

 

Aero tank is a good buy, and this is coming from someone who pretty much exclusively vapes a sub-ohm RDA.

 

I tried just leaving it in boiling/hot water overnight, but I think it made it worse -_- The oil just sort of spread everywhere and stuck back on to the outside too..

I guess I should buy some Everclear or alcohol swabs or something? This is a lot more difficult to clean than I was expecting...

Also, I can't remove the top part that connects to the positive pin, do I have to unscrew this in order to remove it? I can't use 18650 batteries until that extension part is removed I think, the battery rattles but I don't know how to remove it. I'd just like to be sure before I unscrew it, I kind of have a habit of breaking things easily >.>

 

There's a small ring, maybe a quarter inch long in the middle. That's known as the "kick" ring. If you're not using that, you want to remove that ring.

I used reused an image I had when I was asking how to clean it out (I figured it out more or less).

The piece I'm asking about is the one all the way to the far right, where you can see the black O ring. It SHOULD be able to come off that little extension piece, but it's stuck and I have no idea how to get it off...

Stick it in the freezer. The metal should shrink slightly and give you enough play to unscrew it.

Also, as far as the battery rattle - That piece that you have the ring sitting on (that goes on the far right one) -- Do you see how that is two pieces? unscrew/remove that. That is the kick ring I was referring to.

Did you boil it or something? I am just at a loss for words looking at the condition of this mod. Simple science, heat expands and cold contracts. You should never boil a copper mod, nonetheless.

 

I used hot water, yes >.> I just googled how to clean it (residue and whatnot on the inside)

But it was stuck before that anyway and all the pieces were fine, I cleaned it up pretty nicely so that isn't an issue anymore, it's nice and shiny now :laugh:

It's just this one stupid piece that's like infinitely stuck since I got it.

Edit:

I removed the kick ring and managed to get the lock ring off, but at the end I got frustrated with the stupid top thing that connects to the pin and ended up scratching the threads...

I guess rebuildables just aren't for me, I don't have the patience to deal with this -_-

 

When I got my nemesis I didn't have any of these problems, you should have a basic understanding of how its put together before you actually try to do it lol, telescoping mods are much easier for beginners, I recommend the magneto

 

I understand everything about putting it together, the piece is just stuck is all and it refuses to get out -_- I'm considering to just use 18350 or 18500 batteries when I get around to coiling...

Also, the black piece fell out too when I put it into the freezer (I have no clue how) and I can't put it back in either until I get that piece that's stuck removed. I swear, I didn't expect this to be such a struggle lol

 

Oh.. I know what happened now, put it into the freezer for one hour, then wrap a rubber band around it multiple times, use the band to get a stronger grip on it, or use latex/nitrile gloves.

Also, this is kind of odd but with the nemesis I feel like if you twist it too hard, it won't budge, but if you just apply the right amount of force, itll come off

This is what I did for the first time, I put it in there for like 45mins and at the end it didn't work out. I did the rubber band thing separately though, I'll try putting it into the freezer for an hour and then wrap the piece as best as I can with a rubber band and try it again.

 

Okay, I had a similar problem when I first got my magneto, afterwords you should lube the threads up with wd40 so it doesnt happen again
