You're completely wrong. Jagex was giving rollbacks to certain accounts and they accidentally gave one guy MILLIONS of Archer Rings.

 

Haven't seen your gif on here in quite some time but I do recall the gold dupe, that was rather interesting. Of course I didn't understand shit from shinola back then. I couldn't imagine a player hoarding 100K+ archer rings, that's quite the amount of wealth.

 

Jagex customer support is pretty fucking bad lol. The last dealings I recall following between them was when an ex-Dragon Dyce admin had his account locked and recovered by another person while there was ~50b on it. For 4 days he was pleading with Jagex Mods on the forums who were constantly assuring him that they were sure they returned the account to the original creator. Finally, Jagex returned his account and reimbursed him with like 10 squeel of fortune spins, ofc the 50b was removed by the person they mistakenly gave the account to.

 

Wait, so Jagex did/is doing a restoration program for hacked accounts? Wow...never thought I'd see the day.

But wait...wouldn't that increase the amount of discontinued rares? Or is it only a GP thing?

Or would they track where it originally went, delete it, and return it to the owner?

Seems awfully complex.

I don't think it was a dupe as much as a glitch or something. There are youtube videos about it. A friend has one.

 

Yeah I guess they didn't want people to know. It seems like it is just item wise/put back what was on the account. I don't know for the last question though, maybe that or ban the scammer? Who knows.

 

they don't do it for rares, nor do they do it for 90% of people.

A far as i'm aware the guy had visited jagex offices and such and met a couple jmods who decided to help him out later on.

 

Wrong. I was hacked around 3.5b a couple of weeks back Here was my 10b goal thread
Contacted a Jmod and they suggested I could have the items returned. And they did return all 3.5b I lost but in coins.
The lost item return was available to anybody who was hacked for the past couple of weeks.
They did say that this was only a trial period.
