Staff of light, polypore staff. Why didnt jagex just port them as they were?

They replaced them with items that had the same effect, such as the trident of the seas and the staff of the dead. It would have made more sense just to port over the items from a later revision instead of make new models and item names for them.

i like the look of the Sotd than the Sol, and the trident of sea's is kinda different then the polypore staff, but i prefer the polypore staff since u could pk and 1 hand wield it :/

 

It's old school for a reason!! They're recycling and making item's better in my opinion (Trident).

 

Yeah they don't wanna copy exact same thing or else people will think 07 wil become eoc in a couple of years instead of being placed on a time period of 2007-2008 forever

 

Also if they ported the original versions over they would probably have to the areas where you get the drops from on the live game (Polypore dungeon/Ice Strykes) which would take more development time/effort.

 

They're not exactly the same.

For example polypore was much more OP than Trident and could be used in PvP.
