    solving maths with your computer?

I spend a lot of my time in front of the computer, and I'd like if I could do pretty much everything, including my homework on it.

sadly, solving math equations with your computer can be very bothersome due to the lack of symbols and such.

For example, typing the root symbol or exponents takes time, the larger than or equal to sign must be written as >= (a bit too messy for me) and so on.

What are some ways to solve math problems on your computer WITHOUT using a external writing pad or wolfram alpha?

I'm not entirely sure what you'd like as an answer. Wolfram alpha is decent but considering you don't like using it then I'm not sure what to tell you. What type of math is it that will greatly differ what package you could possible use. Maple is probably the best mathematical package for higher level mathematics.

I enjoy using Python for various mathematical stuff. It's just a fantastic language to know since it can be applied in many random general situations. Probably not the best language... But certainly one I've found useful, and it's the first (and only so far) language I've learned.

id recommend sticking to pen and paper , i read that you remember what you write much more then what you read i think typing would apply too

Well depending on the language you're using it would eliminate any knowledge you'd actually get from doing homework yourself. Example being you can do a large portion of calculus and more functions through maple which means you would never actually learn how to do it the "pen and paper" way.

Yeah, writing it down gets you in a rhythm of solving the particular problem.

Like, for example, when I'm differentiating and finding the max and min values I just do it without thinking.

Hmmm download a calculator on your computer, I used to see khan academy for aced mic purposes and I remember he had a advanced scientific calculator, I'm pretty sure it has symbols too
