KnC to release 100 Mh/s Scrypt in Q2/Q3 this year!

KnC has a growing reputation within the crypto ASIC world as being a professional, timely (key word), honest company that has just recently announced they are going to ship their Titan Scrypt miners with a minimum guaranteed hash rate of 100 Mh/s. All that scrypt mining prowess for just $10,000.

Currently, it is around 3 kh/s per $ at the moment with GPU rigs, and slightly more with ASICs such as Gridseeds. But the Titan will change the scrypt landscape as we know it, just as SHA-256 ASICs did. Not only will it replace a warehouse full of energy intensive GPUs, but it will also provide over 3 times the hash rate per $ as current rigs today.

What do you think will happen to the price of scrypt coins when this happens? Thoughts? Comments?

I think they'll make promises and then not ship for ages and people will complain but nothing will happen

You definitely don't know your ASIC companies then. Don't confuse yourself with garbage companies such as BFL.

Do you not even know the history of products from KnC? They're the most reliable company on the market right now.

"KnCMiner announced its first scrypt miner yesterday and today it reported that it already has $2m worth of pre-orders. In fact, all the orders for KnC’s Titan models were made in just four hours.

KnC is on track to sell roughly $25m (2,500 units) worth of Titan miners in the first batch alone and it will soon be joined by Alpha and other competitors. This batch alone could more than double the hash rate – and the difficulty.

One Alpha Viper running at 90MH/s is roughly the equivalent of a hundred Radeon R9 290X cards running on reference clocks. The Titan is even faster, it is as fast as a hundred overclocked Radeon R9 290X cards. Now imagine what a few batches from both companies could do."

It will effect the market, to what extent I'm not sure. I think less scrypt clones will be made as these massively increase the risk of 51% attacks when hashrate is low. (Not a bad thing, to many crappy clones)
Obviously most people using gpu's to mine will stop mining regular scrypt and move onto n-factor, sha3, or multi algo's (darkcoin and others)
I'm going to spread some money across various anti asic coins, as the blackcoin pool demonstrated. When people are forced to use a certain coin, the price rises.
I actually bought 4k maxcoin a couple days ago at 0.000135 ea which are going up nicely :)
Edit: They increased the spec to 250mhs including those that ordered 100mhs
