    http://www.sythe.org/suggestions/1692320-asking-work-recruiting-workers-market-discussion.html

This discussion led to a sticky being made where you're supposed to both post job offers and find people. I'd argue having a few different threads in the market discussion forum would be better than one clusterfuck sticky.

Take the "Playerauctions is hiring" thread for example, it couldn't gain the same traction/interest/people seeing it because it was a good read if it was just pushed into page 30 of some old sticky that no one looks at.

You are going to get better quality applicants if you make a hiring thread than reading peoples canned forms which you have no control over in a sticky.

    My solution
: Hiring threads can be posted in the section, looking for job offers confined to sticky to reduce thread spam.

Indeed. Having a sub-hub, looking for a service is not the way to go about it.

Might as well make a thread "If you're wanting to sell runescape gold, post it here".

I don't think it'd be as clustered if there were two threads, one for users looking for employment and the other for users looking for employees.

Those threads don't belong in Market Discussion.

I came to like the idea of the sticky as there is no discussion to it. What is wrong with the listings other than users not noticing it right away? After a while it will catch eyes. We should not penalize stickies because users lack common sense.

The issue is not because users are lacking common sense, it's because the sticky is going to be clustered with posts. There's no reason for you to be so big headed all the time, not everyone is as stupid as you may think.

lol @ the ppl thinking that they can find a job playing runescape... it's more of a hobby as most people don't/cant make enough to support themselves performing services on rs.

    tl:dr
    RS services aren't a job.

That is completely not the point, and a ignorant way to approach the subject.

Once again: Why is there no sticky for buying or selling gold? Or accounts? Or anything that can be bought and sold for that matter? They are the same thing?

Having one thread is unfair for anyone who is accredited, and completely nullifying of the free market. By the same token, just because it's unfair to people who are accredited, doesn't mean it's unfair to those who are not. It's an additional way to begin a prospective service, and a great means of getting the word out. It wouldn't harm anyone as much as starting a gold selling thread would harm any current gold service would...

Unholy Grail made the first call on it, and he was right. The only reason it's even half way supported is because someone in a position suggested it. Furthermore the only reason why anyone supported it is because of the comment Roary made. If anyone would have made the idea to "create a sticky for getting/looking for employment", then it would have been shot down just as fast as any of the other threads in the denied section. What's funny is that in the original thread where the idea was brought up, there was ZERO support for making a sticky. NOBODY supported making the sticky. This just goes to show exactly how useful a "suggestion" board is.

Mods, you're just shooting yourself in the foot by doing this. People are still going to disregard stickies as they do in -every- board. You will be deleting posts, locking them, and possibly taking further actions on people who refuse or are just too "stupid" to read stickies. You will be making -more- work for yourself by making this happen. Job security, I suppose.

I have no personal take in the matter. I am neither looking for employment or to hire. I just see a giant flaw in the idea and trying to shed some light on the matter.

A compromise on a suggestion is a common occurence, I dont see the bad thing about that.

There isnt enough for a section or 2 threads. They can then contact each other through PM or off-site for a more detailed application.

No mod has ever complained about the abundance of thread-locking because it isn't an issue at all. We'll continue to lock them without crying about it, believe me.

I don't even know how to respond to this. Obviously one person could find some hiring ad on page 50 of some clusterfucked stucky and try and respond with some canned response. This just isn't the ideal way to do it.

I used an example, like the "playerauctions is hiring thread" I know I'd much rather have just seen that as a simple thread than buried in some sticky that no one is going to look at.

"can" and "should" are different things when considering a suggestion.

I hardly think the 4-5 hiring threads that get posted every few months would even be an issue to look at. It just becomes an issue where everyone is posting that they are looking for jobs and half the page is applications.

It isn't a complaint, its a suggestion. It would be better for a variety of reasons which I've already mentioned. It was better pre-suggestion, and I'm suggesting a compromise between the two.

You must be new here? this site is a cluster fuck of morons most lacking the intelligence to put together a decent resume etc. people don't want to go through 900 pages of morons just to find 1-2 people that might work. Not only this but jobs have too many variables to market into 1 thread. you might get someone who can do job part A fantastic but are clueless on job part b or c.

People don't come to Sythe to look for a job. It's up to the person hiring to catch their attention.

Your awareness skills are on point. 900 pages? What an imagination you have. Everything should be explained via messaging about the job. You're acting like someone will be given a job without the proper instructions.
