Sythe.org Official Teamspeak Server

I don't have any idea if it's being Ddosed again or not. All I know it's down and Sythe has been notified that it's down. All we can do is wait for Sythe to work on it.

I have no idea how much it would cost to host a TS server. The wait is killing me too. Though, I don't miss you poking me every 5 minutes.

Funny, Josh. We'd never get the server up and running if we'd have to wait for him to respond. lol

That's fairly inexpensive, Cas. Might be something to consider as a back-up down the road. Also,I agree with you in your last statement.

 

Sythe seems to have dropped off the planet again. I messaged him but haven't heard back.

I have access to part of the server, but not the part that contains the TS itself so unfortunately I can't do any troubleshooting.....

 

Doesn't make any sense, I'm sure joining a teamspeak by a reasonably reputable person on sythe is safe enough. If I wanted your IP I'd resolve your skype =p

And that exact reason is why I enjoy having my skype on a VPN.
I'm just saying for your own good you should avoid sythe-based teamspeak servers made by somebody other than the sythe admins.

I would gladly share our company TS here, but I won't for the reasons above, and I feel that's the right way to go.

 

If anyone is especially concerned with that they could connect to TS with a vpn as well. That's like cautioning users not to share their skype account with anyone except for an administrator. Sure it might help to an extent, but it isn't a reasonable expectation of anyone. '

I'd be comfortable joining a TS operated by pretty much any of you guys. Trying to scare people away from someone opening a temporary TS doesn't make much sense, all I'm saying. Doesn't have to be me, but if someone is generous to open one up of this drags on I'll certainly be joining.

 

I think Cas meant that since this TeamSpeak is being sponsored by Sythe then an Admin of Sythe should be "overseeing" it.

Sure, I'd rather have a sythe admin who can already see my IP be overseeing it. But to go as far as to say that someone else shouldn't host a temporary one if this goes on for another week or so, doesn't make sense.

Though not officially Sythe.org sponsored, there has been an IRC in the past ran by Syed, Grave, and a few other people (if I'm not mistaken). They weren't on staff, but were administrators on the IRC who could easily view people's IPs, kick/ban, etc. It lasted for a pretty long time and I don't think any issues regarding that aspect ever arose - it ultimately died from lack of activity.

Maybe we should look into getting a temporary TS set up until Richard can fix the current one.

Hosted by me, any admin/mod on the current official TS will be able to request a rank while on it, asking verbally and confirming with a pm on sythe.

Scroll up and read CAS_M's TS info, we're using that as an unofficial teamspeak for now.

I'm no expert on TS, but is there a way to host it via Cloudflare CDN? This should prevent some of the DDoS issues.
