Attempted suicided over LoL match fixing:

Jesus Christ... Money man... money makes people do some strange things.

I'm glad to hear that he will live, I wouldn't go as far as saying the suicide attempt was BECAUSE of league, more so the money that comes with it in this case, league just happened to be the catalyst.

It's horrible to know that people are willing to go through such lengths...

I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

 

Yea, It wasn't the game, it was his manager and what he forced his team to do (match fixing), which lead to his unfortunate event. Must have taken a toll on Promise. Most likely all the negative stigma and social perception of him being involved in the match fixing. Was all about money for the manager, as he owns a Korean/TW sports betting site, and made this team solely to match fix games vs other teams and cash out. Sadly all the players on the team were legitimate pro/semi pro players, and had no idea of said match fixing. They were even sponsored by AHQ.

So sad though. He was a talented ADC, former pro for top Korean teams...and now this.

 

Really hope to see him back soon, I go through my entire life poor as hell and the only time it bothers me is times like this. I'd love to be able to donate to the cause but sadly I can't

I'm glad to hear he's alive atleast, If the phrase is true then what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.

It's a terrible situation, hope he has a speedy recover, thoughts are with him and his family+friends.

This is a tragedy. The sad truth, even though he tried to claim his own life, this will not spark those that are behind the implementation of match fixing on any competitive level and in any sport, whether it's in real life or virtual. It's such a shame. We can only hope it will shed alot of light on this and perhaps, one day, create some movement to stop this sort of thing from happening again.

tl;dr Noh Dae Chul ( Manager of AHq : NO TIES WITH AHQ WHATSOEVER) comes up with a plan, gets 5 highly top tier ranker/players and create a team. Tells them bullshit lies to try to make them purposely lose and toto off their loses to make profit. Players had no idea what was happening and believed that OGN threatened them until they found out they had no official sponsor from AHq. (TOTO , AKA ONLINE BETTING FOR SPORTS/ESPORTS/)

1. Ogn had no idea this was going on(THEY WERE NOT INVOLVED) , this was all planned by Noh Dae Chul.

2. Opposing teams also had no idea what was going on , no other players at the time knew about it.

3. Ahq Promise (fimir) did not try to commit suicide just for this sole reason. He had many personal problems , you can check his facebook page but please do not post it here. (rules)

4. We do not know if actscene did purposely throw his game , honestly , I remember one game of the set and he seemed like he was actually playing. They could have just lost due to skill differences/stress/pressure from the coach. Please don't judge until we know everything. Please remember that it was their career , not just some game.

 

Saw this on Reddit earlier -- terrible. Hope he makes a full recovery and gets the help he needs to be in a better spot.

In all honesty though, I don't think I've ever heard of somebody surviving a fall from that high before (12 stories.)

It's sad to see managers like that, or just people in general. Trying to get rich off others hard work/at the cost of others.

In perspective, this isn't just games/internet, we find these occurances in the real world too. That is how big companies, - organisations, fastfood chains- work.

I'm going to donate to Promise, i really feel sorry for him.

 

To update people on this, he has/is recovering. Didn't suffer any fatal injuries and hopefully we will see him back on LoL.

 

That's amazing that he is going to be okay. I can't imagine what he went through. I hope he lives the rest of his life happy.
