Should I play ranked?

Yeah that's my bad I got a little carried away. Just foccus on getting better. If you have an awful team just focus on how you can do better and try to carry them rather than blaming your team and thinking you are super good which happens a lot in LoL.

Another way to get better quicker is to get LoL replay and after your games watch them and you'll notice way more where you messed up and try and learn how to fix your mistakes. But good luck!

 

I agree that you should play draft pick if you haven't and to respect pick order > call order but saying that everyone telling you to jump straight in isn't in bronze/silver isn't true. Almost everyone started in bronze/silver. There is no difference in the skill level between bronze and silver. Playing 500 normal games isn't going to improve your placement by too much.

 

Sorry dude but silver/bronze in Season 4 is nothing like silver/bronze in season 1/2 for example. Most people who are no longer low elo don't understand how cancerous the game has become, and why simply learning to 'carry' games is alot harder than it sounds. And no, there is no skill difference not sure what your point was there and yes playing 500 games will improve his skill and knowledge of the game. You can't argue that, because if he starts to win a majority of those games his MMR will rise so that he starts playing with ranked players higher than silver/bronze and gets a taste of playing against someone mechanically superior.

Im sorry about how can you argue that practice doesn't make perfect? Not like I'd expect him to wait 500 games but the difference between 400 and 500 games is like 50 hours gameplay.

edit: Also, having climbed from the depths of Bronze 5 myself I know how hard it is. When you are down there with the people who attack eachother verbally to the point where they are trying to feed hard to end the game when surrender attempts fail. You don't want to put yourself down there, and struggle to climb even more than necessary and those 100 normal games of practice will be the difference between you being able to carry the imbeciles or instead joining their ranks.

 

Just because you play an extra 100 games it does not mean you will improve skill wise, if you really wanted you could learn everything you need to know and become high skilled in 200 games.

And you act like every game there is a trolled on your team, when infact it is really only every few games, there are trolls, then there are "trolls". The difference is that there are people that just ruin a game so they lose on purpose, then there are the people (this is the case a lot) where they are trying to be funny and troll the team, but if you ignore them they will play properly.

You are highly exaggerating how " hard" it is to climb out of bronze and silver, if you were good enough (I believe you're bronze 4 from what I saw yesterday on your profile) then you could carry yourself out.

Not trying to offend you but you do make out like everything is a lot harder than it is.

 

So you're sorta repeating the whole 'if you're good enough you can carry out' , why are these people playing ranked games if they aren't playing competitively. There is nothing funny about putting a negative vibe on the whole game, i believe we did play afew games together where you were guilty of this too and sorta why you arent on my friends list anymore

But alas if you can't beat em join em right?

 

Well some people play ranked just to see where they will be, others like to play it even if they're not very good so they don't care if they win or lose, doesn't make much sense but still.

And I'm very rarely negative anyway haha

 

I'm not saying that 500 games won't improve skill level, I'm saying that playing 500 games of normals is still gonna get him placed in bronze/silver. Literally nothing changes from bronze 5 to silver and even somewhat into gold. Everyone still has their egos and rages, team comps suck, etc.

Go ahead play ranked, even if u dont have runes, champs, whatever.

People usually dont want new players to start ranked at 30 couse they make them lose games, but honestly, what does that matter aslong as you;re having fun AND you are improving?

You WILL improve faster playing ranked.

Sure you;ll be around the low tiers early on, but the earlier u play ranked, the faster you can get better, thus you can climb faster.

One of the common ways to get better is to find one good champion you absolutely adore, love to play, and have fun with, get runes suitable for that particular champion and spam it.
If the champion is versatile; can go top, mid, bot jungle, you;ll have no problem in champion selection for the most part.

Therefore i do recommend you to play ranked.
Remember, you goal should be to have fun, and enjoy the learning experience, the journey is dark, filled with ragers and players who will mock you, but aslong as you can have fun, not talk back to them, and keeping it positive, i promise you, that you will succeed.

well idk if u listen to me or not ,but dont ever play normal games, it just makes you worse, just go and play ranked, no matters u lose or win but as long as ur gonna be skilled and get elo up easily.(like me, i was challenger in ss2 and d1 at 76 pts in ss3 and played only ranked, even now i have 0 normal games) dont ever waste ur time in normal games and then become a chick )

 

Completely disagree with that, play normals if you want to try a new champion/learn a new role, don't just go into ranked with it Becuase if you don't know what you're doing you may let your team down a lot. But I wouldn't say normals makes you worse either, just because some people play off meta in normals it doesn't mean people don't want to play good and win.

 

With all your champs you can easy carry the games in bronze.
So I'll give it a shot man!

IMO Normals do not even compare to ranked, so I would suggest trying ranked out with one of your good champs to see how you do, and maybe use a recorder to go over your games and see what you did wrong and what you did well. I use MK Jogos built in recorder to review the good and the bad. Like This weekend, I reviewed my Warwick GamePlay, (WWK is a badass in ranked) and looked at my quad kill almost penta on how it won us the game when we were down. little things like that will improve your climb

 

Hey man i made a thread about my dive into ranked and ya know what I'm glad i did i won almost all of my placement games and now climbed my way from bronze 2 to silver 3 and i have only been playing for about a month and some change so i do recommend diving in like i did if you feel confident in your skills. Im no seasoned vet but i was just in your position. Goodluck man!

Just jumped into ranked, if you do bad, stay in ranked and learn, if you don't like it, just stick to what you like playing!

 

i reakon you should play normal for awhile until your confident to play rank, you don't have to rank straight away.

 

i rememeber back in 2010. I went into ranked, full yolo.

Update; I went straight in and went 4-6 lost 3 because of trolls... Got placed Bronze 1! I'm happy with that.
