Homework/Coursework Help

I don't understand why its forbidden to pay for homework/coursework help, or even for someone to do it for you.

I recently needed help with my physics coursework, and I would've got the help far quicker if I was allowed to pay someone for it, rather than waiting around for someone nice to help. I would also be more than happy to offer my maths knowledge to users for a payment, if it was allowed on Sythe.

If someone's willing to pay, there is always someone else willing to provide the service.

My opinion is that Sythe is already a blackmarket trading site, so why put a ban on people helping others in the educations. This suggestion is so that people can pay for help, aswell as tutoring, and an actual end product if needed.

Paying someone to do the work for you completely robs you of the education you're looking for. You're in school for a reason and by taking the easy way out and paying someone to do it you're only hurting yourself.

It's one thing to look for help, it's another to look for someone to do the work for you.

 

why is everyone so quick to jump into things so simple mindedly.

obviously, paying someone to do every piece of your homework/coursework wouldn't help in the long run, but if there's a pointless piece of work that needs handing in, then I'd happily get someone else to do it.

My situation was -

First year of UNI (Doesn't count towards my degree)
I have to submit some physics coursework, once submitted I will never have to do physics again, as It's only needed to pass the first year, then I can move on and actually take the subject of my choice second year.

I wouldn't say that's robbing me of an education, or hurting me in the long run, I'm never doing the subject again.

 

I have your exact problem, but with english for Grade 12.

 

Cheating won't help you on finals or in class work.

 

Some finals are assignments nad most classwork does not get marked, well at least where I go to. (Depends on the teachers)

 

asking for help for a simple assignment i would support that,
i wont support people being able to buy full assignments etc.

 

I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed but we should encourage to help one another for free.

 

It should be allowed, if someone wants to offer money for speedy assistance, then they should be allowed to. It's their money...

Either that, or they direct their activity to places like Chegg.com, in which case, it's a lose lose because Chegg is overpriced AND sythe.org loses that much more activity.

 

It's sad that you don't realize that, even though this course doesn't count towards your degree, you are supposed to take it and engage in the material for a reason. I already spelled out pretty clearly why physics can be quite useful in the career you're looking into in one of your other threads.

And even if you don't buy that, there's a whole 'nother special aspect to classes like these. They build character. They build your ability to handle adversity. They show employers that you can handle a wide variety of issues even if they are not specifically related to your career choice.

You're doing yourself far more harm than good by trying to cheat these assignments. Money can't buy everything. And although it might get you an A on this one assignment, behavior like this will wreck you in the long run. But hey, you've already seen what I have to say. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

 

Same could be said of power leveling. Or buying gold.

 

This. The foundation of this site is built upon the principle "to get ahead by paying other people to do the work for us." Why should that stop at homework?

 

Yea and no moral argument will work really as long as no one is being scammed.

There isn't a formal process. I tried to get o e implemented when Sin was still around but she was the only one to take an interest. It really just comes down to a staff vote or a decision on a minor rule change. Still takes forever though.

 

The decision is ultimately the administration's. Maybe the globals since this is a minor rule change.

 

If it's a sectional rule the sectional could change it, technically.
