Yeah, but I just want to know if it's waived if I just pay the $85 fine uncontested.

    Running a Red Light Penalty?

Ticket/Citations can only be dismissed by the Newark Municipal Court. This goes for both situations of running a red light. If you want to try and fight it for dismissal than you must go to court. But, I'm curious though what does your piece of paper the officer handed to you read? "Failure to observe traffic signals NJSA Section #39:4-81?

Unless it was by the Red Light Camera, the points will stay on your license. I'm not sure if that changes under uncontested payment, or if they have a driving school you can par-take in to prevent the points from hitting your license. These are things I would call the number in my post, or the number on your ticket.

Ah, so am I still able to submit it then through the link you gave me? I thought that it was only applicable to parking tickets.

And yeah, it says "Failure to Observe Signal" and then the box is checked off for a #3:9-41.

The uncontested payment thing was my question. I don't really want to go to a school either or something, but if I really have to, I guess I'll got to court since I know for sure I didn't run a red light. I'm just not entirely sure what I would say to contest it so I guess that would be a pretty big issue. If it's sheerly my word verse the cop's, I'm probably screwed unless if he doesn't show up or something.

Call them up and ask then, each local town does stuff differently. As for the course thing if they offer one do it. Trust me it would be worth it grinding through it. Consider it like a bad quest in runescape, that you feel good about once you finish.

None of us on Sythe.org can offer you legal advice nor were we there to really know what happened. My advice is talk it over with your parents and see what they have to say. Chances are they have some wise advice :) Unless you pay everything yourself you are better off being open and honest with them.

I won't be able to call them until next Monday since apparently my ticket isn't registered or something yet :/

I don't want to tell my parents either yet until it becomes a definite issue. I'd rather try to handle it myself first.

Traffic tickets are the low of the low. I got a small possession ticket (in minnesota it's on the same level of severity as a traffic ticket.) And it took a whole 2 weeks for it to register. So I think it will be longer then 1 day or two.
