Ha, so I got charged back on for $256.50, and submitted my video proof of the transaction going down, but they claim it isn't valid proof. Now my PayPal is -206.50 because I bought some thing off of eBay before the charge back. PayPal thinks I'm going to pay them back, when it is their stupidity for allowing the charge back to take place. PayPal is full of idiots, I swear.

PayPal really doesn't deal with virtual goods. Especially if you sent the payment as Gift for friends/family. Should've been more cautious accepting PayPal from newcomers as PayPal's not the most secure way of receiving payments in terms of being chargebacked. Only accept medium+ amounts of money on PP from trusted members with a verified PP Account.

lol, it was a kid with 900 posts, joined in 2007. Before you go making accusations of who I accepted the payment from, do some research.

I don't think he's gonna go digging through your posts to figure out who the guy was :)

But to the main point, sorry about your loss. Will have to get in touch with PP support and explain it. Always take ID's from people for paypal to match it up.

Yeah PayPal can be a bitch, I had conclusive proof that the guy that charged back on me was paid and still lost, and had to pay the 20$ chargeback fee and had negative balance.

Luckily for me it was only a 40$ payment, but I still had to pay the extra 20$...

Before calling them idiots consider this you've broken their terms of service by trading virtual goods.

Doesn't matter, people still win cases for virtual goods with adequate proof.

    Do you have proof OP?

Also, is it an unauthorized claim?

Post count and join date for nothing if your receiving $250 via paypal. In future, I would suggest looking at vouches instead.

Because Paypal doesn't offer buyer protection for virtual goods also. In short they can either decline the dispute for a valid reason and they can accept the dispute for the same.

Their choice depends on what type of Paypal you've, % transactions without problems, what type of acc the buyer has (cc / balance). I got this from an agent off Paypal a while ago.

    Cheers!

Realistically, if you don't have a bunch of experience accepting Paypal for virtual goods, you shouldn't be selling to random users. I don't care about join date / post count. Sythe accounts can be hacked quite easily, especially inactive ones.

You should just be selling to shops if you don't know what you're doing. Perhaps you don't realize it, but for the extra ~50 cents per mil you are making by selling to a random user VS. a shop, you are taking on a massive amount of risk. Especially on transactions over $100. Chasing that extra 50 cents cost you 100% of the gold you were selling in this case.

R2P is right, and unfortunately disputing these claims on PayPal is VERY hit and miss.
