A protected battery is safer, but not entirely safe. However, mechs are nothing to be scared of, just be sure to check your coils with an ohm reader before firing a coil, and make sure your fire button is locked when not in use and you'll be absolutely fine.

 

as long as you are above 1 ohm you should be safe right? I dunno the whole ohms law thing

EDIT: and I decided to go with a magneto mech mod and a trident clone rda, wish me luck, also going with 28g kanthal

 

These are the batteries I own/use. Subohming a .3ohm build currently. It CHUCKS vapor.

 

I rock sony VTC4's they're pretty awesome. I usually sit around .2-.5 ohm builds on an IGO-w and it works beautifully.

 

anyone know where I can get a good trident v2 clone? they seem to be sold out all over online

Oh lol my bad, there isn't anywhere selling them 101vaping sells them but since there's only like 1 vendor making the clones atm they sell out instantly.

 

I bought all my stuff today, I got a magneto, trident clone, kanthal 28g, ohm meter EVERYTHING, ill take pics in 2-3 days when it gets here also bought some suicide bunny juice, anyone ever try this? I got mother's milk flavor

 

I'm looking for something that is on the inexpensive side but gives a huge amount of flavor. Anyone have a mod suggestions?

 

If you are going inexpensive I suggest a vision spinner or ego twist, you will want a decent tank though, a recommend a kanger protank mini because it looks good on both vision spinner and ego twist, and the coils are premade and replaceable.

I found this and for the price it looks pretty good. Not sure how authentic the v2 mini-protank is or even the battery itself.

 

Did you get end up finding the v2 clone? and from what shop?

What's inexpensive for you?

 

With the 650 on a variable voltage if you did decide to turn it up for more smoke output (say 4.2V) it would die pretty quickly.

 

Inexpensive for me right now is like $30 - $35 at the moment.

 

Alright, since you where looking at the evod's i'm assuming you kind of just want one to puff on. If you don't mind waiting a bit (I mean anywhere from 1 - 4 weeks) I would check out fasttech. There prices are very low compared to others and If you where to go to a shop near you or even look on ebay, majority of the stuff are clones anyway. I took the liberty to look up a few models with tanks I think you might like.

Also suggest you buy a pack of these at the same time, as you will need them and they will more expensive at a shop near you and price jumped at US vendors (online shops).

EDIT: Personally I would go for option 2. whole kit is about $22 and it has screen with voltage changing buttons. If you want a mini protank with it its $11 more for an authentic one, or even less like $7 for a clone.

 

Interesting. So are the clone qualities up to par with the real thing? Like with the protank and all? I am not too picky about batteries, but I know tanks can bust really easily when you get to acidic juices and thick juices.

I'd like to get into mech mods and RBAs eventually, but right now I am just looking for entry level stuff that is maybe a little more than entry level.

Battery clones are all up to par. I have a two year old buck naked battery thats as big as a protank thats a clone and it works fine. Where as my real variable voltage battery broke at the top and the components fell out. So i wouldn't be to worried, as for tanks I just read the reviews and discussions When I'm worried. Even if something did go wrong fasttech would send you a new one. I'm also going to be getting into mechs right now I'm at a variable voltage/watt mod that telescopes. I'm thinking about buying this mech mod soon, I hear its a good intro:
