Nice. Looking forward to seeing some decent film on this soon. From what I've heard it's getting really mixed reviews though.

 

Yeah it's really not that great, but hopefully end-game content will be worth it. I hope someone was smarter than me and actually recorded their experience so they could share it... I didn't record it because I never thought the NDA would be lifted before the full release...

 

Rock Paper Shotgun pretty much trashed it. Looks like another company trying to squeeze out some MMO money from a big IP. I'm looking at you SWTOR.

 

I'm glad to see this, I'll check out a youtube video or two then.

 

I never applied for the Beta so haven't played this myself, but, I friend of mine who is big into his MMO's played it and said it's a watered down Skyrim. I'm pleased this NDA has been lifted, will give me a chance to have a proper look at it before buying it. I guess that's why they've done it, negative reviews and they want a chance to prove themselves.

 

Meh, lifting the NDA is the wrong way to prove the negative reviews wrong, it's a pretty bad game, but I'm going to play it out of loyalty/principle. We'll see how it goes. I'll probably end up uninstalling after a month or two

 

It actually looks like a fun game, I haven't heard any of the criticisms yet. Care to fill me in? The one that I've heard is about the combat system, which I personally think looks just fine.

 

If your looking for an MMO with the depth that Skyrim has, you won't find it. If you are looking for a bland same-old style MMO that has been done time and time again you will find it. It's like walking around a Runescape private server.. randomly placed NPCs all in a big circle for killing. The obvious 'quest' NPC with the giant exclamation mark. There is no immersion, the graphics are appalling for this generation and the combat feels stiff. The animations feel awkward and you run around like a dainty little fairy. I also have checked out some PvP videos on Youtube ( the beta never interested me enough to keep playing past level 13 or so) and it seems like you either play sorcerer, or you lose. The ranger is insanely underpowered and boring to play. Even when you are the sorcerer, you will be disappointed by the lack of beautiful particle effects and animations, it's like the first 50 levels of Magic in runescape, Oh great I unlocked a fire bolt hehehe looks AWESOME RIGHT?

The GUI also felt rushed and bland, there is no 'choice' like in all the Elder scrolls game, it's linear and extremely disappointing. I think they would have been better off dedicating all their time and money into bringing skyrim to the multiplayer fan base. Now that is a game which captivated me, not this half assed sorry excuse for an Elderscrolls game.

Of course, this is just my opinion, although you will find many who agree.

 

I appreciate your response! I'll come into the game with that in mind then and just try to enjoy it for what it is. (as I really enjoy the series)

Wow, if it makes it seem like skyrim has depth then.... it must be really shallow lol.

I know I could probably google it and find out but I plan on checking back on this thread anyway.

a) how much is the subscription?

b) how do you get into the beta / will your beta account transition over of be deleted?
