Start playing runescape again

Alright. Runescape has been a big part of my childhood. unfortunately i stopped .

i started again later solely botting (such as fish wood etc) and sell it at the ingame merchant, i had lots of fun with it, was truely a good time.

Now i kinda want to get back 4 years later but theres alot of things going on that i dont have a clue about. What is this EOC 07 thing? i know it's 2 runescape modes, one being with the new combat system and 2007 being the older version.

what are the perks of each mode, which one is more fun (ofcourse this is subjective, since it will be your own opinion) and lastly anything in particular i should keep an eye out for?

07 is the way to go. But currently they are planning on adding the pre eoc combat system into the rs3 game itself. I mostly play 07 for the old memories, i could careless about these high tech graphics etc.

 

So the differences is more in the aesthetics of EOCrs3 versus 07? or does the content of the game differ aswell?

And if they plan on revoking the EOC in rs3, wouldn't it be better to make an account on rs3 then, since they will be adding the pre eoc combat?

 

In terms of content RS3 has a lot more. My preference is oldschool as it's what I grew up with and know better. I don't think I'm quite ready to make the switch over to the new RS3 style. Looks more like WoW than RS now.

Oldschool has a decent community now and seems to be growing.

 

rs3 is a much bigger game and community, but 07 is indeed growing and ive always known this game and cant understand eoc.

 

Will 07 ever become bigger than EOC?

And how big is the difference in playerbase? does this mean that botting/moneymaking is better on EOC?

eoc is more popular, and i think it will stay that way, simply because eoc is getting better updates. but it's up to you to decide wether you prefer the old school playing style or the new style with loads of new content.

 

Eoc/Rs3 is more popular and thats the reason why jagex wouldnt release F2p in 07 to my opinion. F2pers in eoc aren't havng any fun and theres nothing to do. It actually feels more like a demo and if 07 is f2p then tons of F2pers will move there whihc will reduce players in eoc which jagex doesn't want.

 

And what about the botting?

 

I prefer 07 scape. EoC takes a little getting used to but not hard at all and isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

PvP is pretty dead, pvm is better on EoC in general, slayer and such.07 is nostalgic and much more simple.

 

Botting is pretty easy on both eoc and 07. I perfer 07 like most people I know. eoc isn't that bad it has it's perks and player vs. monster has more features. (COinshare, Lootshare, Grand exchange, clan wars) Runescape makes money off advertisements right now, so I don't know if they know where they are going right now. It seems they brought back the 07 for the traffic count for the advertisements reasons. I think until they can combine eoc and 07 attributes to make the game as popular to bring back previous players and excite new players 07 is here to stay. Grand exchange is cool, and eoc isn't really that bad. But I loved rs for the pvp which is not existent in eoc.

I'd like to ask; is it better that i play by my own in the beginning or is it ok if i just bot right off the bat to get up the levels faster?

 

I think you should play the game before blotting, this way you'll know more of what to do and once your confident, you can start to bot

 

Alright a couple of questions now
so i got the email verification xp lamp that lets me xp any attribute, which one to pick, which one is best?

i got 4-5 combat lamps aswell. Not sure if i want to be a mage, warrior, or ranger. i like the bow, deals lots of dmg so far. Are you required to have runes and stuff later on for spells and such? right now my bow dosnt require arrows so i quite like that. Or is swords just better than all of them?
