TwitchPlaysPokemon as an analog for the Infinite Monkey Theorem

Infinite Monkey Theorem for those who don't know:



So I was thinking about this at work today. The way that the stream works is similar to how the infinite monkey theorem works. While the inputs aren't completely random from a non-biased point there is a lot of random inputs and eventually all of the random inputs will end up completing the game. While this isn't the exact theory it is very interesting because your mashing together a an exercise of sheer randomness, a sociology experiment, and internet culture. I mean look at the memes that have already been generated by the randomness and complete wackiness that has come of it.

So I guess this post is more of about how TwitchPlaysPokemon is deeper than just a stream. It is a mish-mash of experiments that could be studied to show trends. Discuss.
