House of Cards

If you haven't seen the show on Netflix, give it 1 episode. If you have seen it, thoughts? I personally love it and can't wait for the next season. Kevin Spacey is so awesome, and I love the way he talks directly to you as the viewer sometimes.

 

Currently downloading the entire first season. So far I've read some pretty great reviews about the show. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it pans out.

I personally HIGHLY enjoy this series. It's exceptionally scripted, and the best part is you don't really know who's going to win, and often times you second guess who you're rooting for. All are equally mischievous, despicable and dangerous, and they ALL come within a hair's-width from winning the political game they're playing. The finale is incredible and leaves it open for a VERY tantalizing new season. You're honestly left not knowing what the fuck is going to happen. Even where it does give you closure on some of the plot points, it still leaves it open for so much more. And not even more of the same, it leaves it open for the show to grow and morph naturally, to become something new, not stagnate like you see with most TV series.


Netflix definitely knows what they're doing.

 

House of Cards is a phenomenally produced and written show that is also expertly casted. The writing propels the show forward in a way that even the seemingly calm parts are not to be overlooked because all the small details are necessary to understand the full arc. Highly recommended.

 

Amazing show. I think I like West Wing better but they are two very different shows even though they are on the same exact topic.

 

I'm with SuF in that I prefer the West Wing to House of Cards, but both are fantastic shows.


...coincidentally, the highest politician in both shows is a Democrat.

Great show wish i wasn't already plowing down the season already at episode 7 lol >.<, and i think it was episode 2 man didn't see that sht coming at all... man

 

First episode of Season 2. Holy. Shit.

 

I watched it in one day, and rewatched it the next, so don't feel bad.

 

No spoilers everyone, still on first episode of season 2. Trying to give myself like 1 episode every two weeks or so, don't know how long I'll be able to last.

 

It was so fucking intense.

 

I was only told about this show the other day so I'm yet to give it a go. No Netflix in New Zealand either, so looks like I'll be on my to-DL list. Apparently it rivals Breaking Bad in terms of how it hooks you? I'm definitely hoping it does.
