I have been wanting to go to design school for years now. I'm not sure how I should start or where I should start. I need some help before I apply. Do you think it is a good job? If so what eras should I specify in?

Going to design school is not a job.

First off, find a school, then find out when they have open houses available so you can go and get all the information you need.

To find a school, google and search for colleges that have design/computer art in the area which you reside in.

I assume you mean "design" itself as a job. There are plenty of opportunities in many places provided you have the willingness to go out and find work. It could start off as a small design business where you approach store owners and offer your services.

I imagine for those graphically inclined design would be a fun and rewarding career.

Look up schools in your area that offer design courses. Pick about 5 schools that interest you and either book an appointment to check out the campus, or look up when they have their open house. I've applied to 5 schools and have already looked at 3. Most schools offer similar programs, you'll most likely be taking basic design courses, typography, web design, digital illustrations, digital applications, further on you'll be doing motion graphics and some photography.

PM me or add my Skype if you have any further questions, I should be able to answer them :)

I don't think that "Designing" would be a good career choice, but I'm all about which jobs make the most money. But if you like to do it, I'd say go for it, but also, think about the average income per year, and choose your job wisely! Let us know how you're doing! :)

As everyone is saying, you'll have to do some research on the internet and find out what is offerred around your area.

As to if it's a good job, I'm not sure the pay but I wouldn't think it'd be too good to start but if you're good enough, you could get boosted up to higher tier designer spots at different companies and that's when you could start making some major cash.

You could make a decent amount, but not a great amount of cash if you chose that career choice. Just do what your gut tells you! :)
