    Any sport bike owners here?

Hey whats going on guys, are there any sport bike owners here? I'm recently in the market to buy a sport bike of sorts....I'm leaning towards a CBR600...For some reason the bike is just very appealing to me from what I've read and saw. The looks, the reliability etc. . .I don't want to go higher than a 600 because honestly that's MORE than enough power for a 190lb dude. I also don't want to go any lower to like a 250cc bike simply because I'd imagine I would grow out of it quick and probably just lose money upgrading to a 600 anyway.

My experience (its not much haha)
    - On my 13th birthday some how my mom let buy a 150cc moped...very responsible I know haha, not crazy amounts of power like a 600cc but it got to highway speeds very easily lol. I road the thing around everywhere.
    - I've always been around dirt bikes, biggest dirtbike I've ridden was 250cc

I plan on buying used because it would be silly for me to assume I'll never lay it down haha. That being said do you guys have any buying tips? What to look for, a good round about mileage? Whats too high etc. . .and just thoughts or suggestions on the subject.

Ive always wanted a bike but never felt the need to own one since my car was fast...but the car is sold and I now have this...and I'm craving for speed lol.

I don't own on but I've been around dirt bikes and fourwheelers my whole life. How often would you say you've ridden bikes before? And have you actually owned one?

I'm just saying because If you don't got a good idea on how you handle your throttle, when you do lay it down it will be ugly. If you panic (and you will on your first bike) on a 600cc theres a 95% you are fucked. Ever think about maybe touring editions or just starting at lets say 450cc? At 450 you still got power and you can learn to ride a bit better.

Also good choice on looking to buy used one, new bike would be just a waste of money.

Ive been around dirt bikes since around 14 until 18 when I joined the army, I used to ride almost every weekend with my neighbor. So shifting and all of that I have down! And the 150cc scooter had easily over 2000 miles on it, although that was automatic!

That may not be a bad idea for a 450cc something if I can get it for a good price! I just don't wanna lose money doing the transition from said <600cc bike to a CBR if its going to be within a month or 2 haha. Which is what I think may happen!

That's understandable, but 600cc can be monsters. They don't take much to get going and when they go, they go. I'm no specialist, hell I haven't even owned a dirtbike in a year. But I do know that you will have to put money into it, insurnace is crazy, and until you get your chicken strips off your tires, your probably not ready for 600cc. And think about it this way 450 now to learn to ride and probably not dump and loose a bit during upgrade OR dump your 600 claim on insurance get fucked over for life plus be out a bike for awhile. Who knows, they could even cut you a check for what the think its worth if you totaled it and it could be under what you paid and be out money like that. But its all up too you.

Haha thats true, either one will most likely get lade downb eventually honestly! I'll start look at 450's and get an idea of whats out there! Riding season is coming up quick! Thanks for the insight bro!

I suppose the 450 route "could" be cheaper if I did play chance bought a 600 then laid it down haha.
