Hecarim Jungle/top. :O

I don't understand how to even play this champ, he seems like an AMAZING champ but I can not figure out how to even play him right. Tried looking up builds and they just confuse me more then anything.

Jungle, sure. Not the best jungler, but he's okay.

 

i've seen him top, guy had a 4 win streak with him, turns out it wasnt too bad.

When ganking, you wanna make sure you get behind them.

 

He was good, until he got nerfed... There are many better junglers now

 

He got slightly buffed since he's a "mana hungry AOE jungler," all of which really benefit from the new spirit items.

Hecarim's whole point is an AOE DPS tank, like Amumu and Sejuani (and others). He's one of the most fearsome gankers because he can gank from almost every angle, and his movespeed means that even if he walks on a ward he'll get there in time anyway. The range on his ult is really strong.

In a teamfight, his whole point is to ult through their team (causing a fear to their whole team and is an incredibly strong engage) and then bruisering the ADC or APC. He lacks in enough CC to really do anything else, and that's the big reason he's not played much. If your team can't follow up on that type of kamikaze engage, you're done.


Triforce is core... it just fits really nicely. The 6% movespeed and the +20 movespeed on hit synergize so well with his kit, and the Sheen hits allow him to do ungodly amounts of damage because his Q is on a 2-3 second cooldown. Other really good items are Spirit Visage (lets his W heal for 24% of outgoing damage instead of 20%) and Randuin's Omen (give him some much-needed CC, and he naturally exists in the center of the enemy team so it works well.)

 

Tier 3 jungler at best

 

The recent buff to heca makes his sustain early in the jungle like a breeze.

Not sure how you can be too confused by this but hey lol.

Solo queue if you get an early FB or w.e get Spirit of Elder Lizard, followed by triforce / iceborn, personal preference, then you wanna get spirit visage, sunfire, general tank.

You heal is stupidly OP in team fights so keep W on, Q spam hurts like a bitch with spellblade procs, E works on next attack and remember his passive lets you run through minions.

 

Woah, i love hecarim. Absolutely love him. I think he is fantastic at carrying games. Very nice ganks with e knocking them towards your teammate. His ultimate is game changing as well since you can ult the enemy team while they are doing an objective and easily smite it away. I build him 2 ways

1. Elder lizard > Tabi/Mercs > Sunfire > Visage > Randuins > Iceborn - to peel and soak up damage. Usually when my top laner isnt that tanky
2. Elder lizard > Tabi/Mercs > Trinity Force > Sunfire > Visage > Randuins - When i want a little more damage in my build when my top laner is also a frontline champ

 

Gonna use what I have read from this thread and give it a shot. :O Will report back when done a few games.

 

he actualy got buffed with new jungle items he falls off hard late game

 

I have a friend who plays hecarim top in Diamond 3... I dont know his exact build but I know it has a trinity force and some pretty hard tank in there... the dunk he has is insane, i've seen him 1v3 backlines with no problem at all in diamond+ elo. Just depends on learning him I guess.

 

Hes pretty good at jungle, I saw him play at a stream twice

 

Not too hard to play him top lane, decent clear, push lane hard and just build Tanky with Trinity Force.

 

- In the jungle, I always max my Q, but maxing the heal can work too.
- His passive is ignoring unit collision, so use that to your advantage. Run through creeps to get to the enemies.
- Since he ignores unit collision, run through your enemy with your speed buff activated, and then hit him back towards your teammate.

 

Normally he is jungle, however there was a top game I witnessed. He carried pretty hard as well.
