Regarding that thread.


Why is social enginerring for keys not allowed. Who is being stolen from EA sports for a KEY ? because someone didn't sign up and they get a player because I just said I signed up earlier?

But the people who are going to be selling them non stop are probably the ones on the chat and email 24 hours a day and then actually scamming people on the forum selling FREE KEYS that they stole ( if it is disallowed )

tl;dr

Social engineering keys and other intangible goods that hurt no one should be promoted instead of letting people do it under the table and ripping people off for what they "stole"

Any form of SEing should be perm banned. You're tricking / manipulating someone to give you something that you did not honestly earn / purchase yourself.

If that is not alloewd then yeah every person who lures should be banned... Anyone who stakes and says the other person is supposed to win or they only have 1 max hit, or shit should be banned.

SE is a form of blackhat, i.e. stealing something that doesn't belong to you nor do you have rights to have by that means.

SE is not allowed. We had a discussion on luring, and it's using the games mechanic to their advantage.

 

I don't agree with luring. It shouldn't be allowed and I've voiced my opinion about it several times. Any form of SE should be discouraged on sythe. The marketplace is not a fence for your stolen goods.

Either permanently ban for luring or allow all types of social engineering that doesn't constitute theft of more then a very small monetary value if any. Se'ing keys from EA sports hurts no one, why is it not allowed?

But the selling of keys that were SE'd is allowed as long as you don't say you se'd it but lets not pretned we all don't know the keys people sell in bulk aren't SE'd or fradued in some way

 

We can't just assume all these things are SE'd. We'd end up with zero marketplace. If there is proof that anything being sold is not legitimately obtained then we will take action when it is presented. Handing out punishment for "we think"* isn't good staffing IMO.

*I beg you not to take that extremely literally as I can't be bothered explaining lol

I honestly dont see how this thread in its entirety was a form of social engineering when all you do in one of the steps is simply email EA and ASK for a beta key. I can maybe see how the other half was social engineering because you're basically "duping" the person who replies but they're replying to emails the same way Jagex replies to bans, in a generic mass produced email. (They most likely don't even bother to read our emails)

To be called a scammer\asked to be permanently banned simply trying to help the community into getting the beta for free instead of paying $20 for one seems a bit shrewd to say the least.

Can i repost the thread with instructions pointing out how to just contact EA and get one for free without manipulating? All you literally have to do is ask for one.

Btw, in no way do i condone social engineering or this retardsrus guy, he's trying to get his point across by being plain rude.


edit: btw. if what i posted was against the rules, you should disallow people selling botting services on twitch. They're manipulating the system to get monetary gains.
