Are Guns Okay?

A dog or anything else shooting a gun is ridiculous. The only way ANYTHING like that could possibly happen is under extreme extreme negligence by the gun owner
As in loading a gun, taking the safety off and laying it on the ground. Seriously man.

No one said firearms aren't dangerous. Im just saying they dont fucking kill people, they CAN be used to kill people but so can a butter knife. Granted one is more efficient my point stands, its the same ridiculous train of thought.

Saying guns are in anyway responsible for murder is passing the buck off the murderer to the weapon and that's outrageous. A person is responsible for their own action, not the the tools they use.

And this accidents discussion is equally ridiculous. There are MILLIONS more lethal accidents concerning automobiles and other things yearly. Not to dismiss the fact that accidents do happen, because they do with everything. Accidents do NOT happen with proper care, at least accidents caused by the user.

 

I dont personally own any guns, my father had two pistols in the house when I was younger and taught me to fire them and handle them safely at a young age. As its been stated, guns don't fire themselves. People kill people and thats that. Theres more crazy people out there than you'd like to think. Why shouldn't people be able to protect themselves if they dont feel safe in a community? At the end of the day, if someone breaks into your house, the first thing you're going to do is call someone with a gun.

fun fact most deaths involving a weapon, are from a knife, which mosly accur in the EU? why? because guns are hard to obtain and most people try to defend themselves verus a knife, while as if someone had a fire arm you be less couraged to try n attack the robber.

I completely agree with your statements. I can't stand when people says the gun kills the people, its the person behind the gun.

That gun can't kill anything just sitting there on the counter, it's when someone pulls the trigger.

Most handguns are actually easier to use and simpler for the average person to shoot. Let alone an ak is a .30 caliber bullet where as handguns go up to and possibly exceed .50 cal, bigger bullets usually amount to more damage.

I just dont see where you are going with this.

 

Maybe the fact that you can spray more rounds with an ak = more deaths, where a handgun only has a small clip usually and is slower and you have to reload more = less deaths.

 

Ak standard magazine is 20-30 rds. I have a 33 rd mag for my high power (9mm handgun) They also dont sell full auto ak's without a class 3 license. I cant think if one incident involving a mass killing utilizing a full auto.

Target acquisition is faster with a pistol regardless, by your logic thats more deaths. All im saying is you are making generalizations based on video games and conclusions you have drawn yourself.

Oh and this isn't speculation based on video games logically anyone can conclude more RPM = More Deaths if of equal skill.

So in 10 minutes (9:30-9:40) he killed 26 people with a full auto weapon.

Where as Columbine there was two people, 15 killed with handguns and shotguns which took roughly 20 minutes from the first shot fired.

Take two people of equal skill and have them run out these scenarios, one using a handgun and the other using some form of a fully automatic weapon.I know i'd be more afraid of someone who was able to shoot more RPM into a crowd than just shooting a round at a time. lmao.

 

First off your post is littered with imaccuracies. Sandy Hook was with a legally owned (by his mother) semi automatic ar 15 . Columbine kids had a hit LIST and a hell of a lot more than just handguns and shotguns ( there was atleast one pistol caliber short carbine), granted this list kinda went out the window once the shooting started they still had specific people in mind. Columbine also had a school cop or two like most US highschools who really helped save lives where as sandy hook was a teeny tiny elementary school with bo where to hide and no police on scene. COMPLEYELY different scenarios. Also a shotgun with 00 buck shot can kill 3-4 people close together easily in one shot. Thats 9 projectiles roughly the size of one 9mm bullet each pellet larger than the AR 15's native round (.223/5.56) oh but its not full auto or an "assault rifle" it must not be good.

You obviously know all of jack shit about firearms and these shootings. My point is a gun is a gun in regards to killing, hell single shot bolt guns have even been used in rampage shootings (dc sniper, austin tower shootings) trying to blame a certain type of gun is just liberal agenda bs against "assault rifles" and "high capacity weapons"

I own guns, I have a gun license with them. I think they'r good it just really depends on who has them, the situations that happen while guns are around. Can't take guns away from everyone, theres bad with everything.

 

Living in Canada the rules in which owning fire arms are completely different from the states, however I do go to the states every year and yeah for me it's weird running into random civilians carrying guns almost everywhere. Then I realize that no matter what object someone has on them, they can kill someone; guns don't necessarily increase violence at all. If the person is violent they will be violent with whatever they have or can find, so I agree with firearms being allowed, and wish Canada would step it up and allow us too carry firearms. Never know when your life will truly be in danger

 

I don't know where you're visiting but I rarely ever see anyone with a gun... And if i do they're usually a cop.

 

What state was this? I've never seen this before. Carrying a gun in public is very unsettling to others, not to mention dangerous.

 

Being a Navy seal and all, all I can really tell you is, pray to god you have the ability to get guns and own them.

 

I was born and raised in Texas, carrying a gun isn't really dangerous sir.
