Valentines Day

For you lovers (and soon to be lovers) out there what are your plans for Valentine's Day? I'm looking for some fun alternative ideas to present my girlfriend with come Friday.

Any plans? Any memorable years where you or someone else have outdone themselves?

PS - I need to redeem myself after N4N0's performance in the TeamSpeak yesterday that was overheard by her LOL.

In the middle of the winter, in Canada!? Fantastic idea.

Could go out for dinner I suppose, but that's so generic.

 

I once pretended I had entirely forgot about it, went to her house while she was at work, came back and the house was all decked out in nice stuff and dinner was made, favourite film was all ready and set up

 

Work in the morning then going out to the skids with some mates to get yucky

That seems like something that would suit my personality! Great idea - I'm sure the lucky partner was very happy.

 

I work all day and night just to avoid it.

 

I'm just going to make dinner and get flowers and a necklace. I fucking hate this holiday with such a passion. It's so stupid.

 

Very strong emotions towards this day my girlfriend kinda thinks it's a waste of money but she will never say no to gifts , she does get mad at first that i spent money on her but she is happy at the end of the day

 

If I do nothing, I'm in trouble. I'm expected to do shit so it's not special at all. Stupid.

I live by the principle that it shouldn't take Valentine's Day to do something special. I'd rather be given or give gifts spontaneously and not just because it's commercially expected of me.

 

But that is not the case. Yes Valentines day is a commercial event but that still shouldn't stop you.

Just because of the date shouldn't make a difference. Just at Valentines day its more special and I make more of an effort than a normal Friday :/....

Think how your girlfriend feels when she see's all the lovely thing people have done, and you was on sythe because it is commercially expected.


For me anyways I got a personalized song written and professionally sang .... Going to upload and sort the video tomorrow .... Also some flowers and some chocolates

Followed by an evening of a cooked meal (steak and chips) watching a nice film, few bottles of wine / campaign and yes sex lol.

 

It isn't any more special than a normal Friday. I do nice things for my girlfriend on normal Fridays.. when nobody else is doing nice things just because they feel they have to. You're making it out like I'm saying I never do nice things and abandon her for Sythe lmfao.

 

Oh I don't doubt that you don't do nice things or anything.

All I am saying is just because its so commercial doesn't make it a bad thing.
Me and my girlfriend often do nice things don't get me wrong, but as its a day of love it just seems fitting to do something nice on this particular day aswell as other days.

 

But it's not romantic or spontaneous when it's expected, that's all. You're just the same as everyone else, competing for the "most romantic" or "most impressive" gestures, it's not what it's about for me.

 

Well it is.. Yes the partner is expecting something, but they don't know what that something is as its a surprise.. Its like when you plan a surprise for your girlfriend and you tell her, she gets all excited. This is the same, she knows that its valentines day and generates the same feeling of excitement as any other day she knows a surprise is around the corner.

Anyway each to their own I suppose.

Hot air balloon ride over the city. Most companies even offer wine or champagne that is included in the price at the end of the ride and then you are shuttled back to your vehicle.

I agree, but I feel like every day should be "valentine's day" for both people. You don't need to have a special occasion to express your love for them or do something nice, sweet, or kind for them. Spontaneity is the best.

 

Why does the guy have to do everything?

 

You guys are all about gifts and flowers. At the moment I'm single for many reason but guys think, some kids don't have a mother for Mother's Day.
