    Flappy Birds - Closing down.

Did he ever explain how it ruined his life? Is he feeling guilty at how addictive it is or......?

I may have miss read it, but it said he wasn't taking it down for legal issues... so why?

He's probably feeling guilty I thought the same just think how many little kids he got addicted to such a shitty game. I was just speaking to my brother and supposedly it's no longer getting deleted.. but I'm not sure.

    I quote this ^^

Maybe he's got enough money now :p?

Legal issues is the first thing everyone mentions about that game, so maybe it was to avoid any potential issues. Regardless of the matter, he made a ton of money for a game he barely spent any time on, which is evident because the game itself is quite simple to make.

I wouldn't regret making the same decision as him.

1.) doesn't want this simple game to be a one hit wonder for him as a developer.
2.) Can't handle all the negative feedback, or seeing people get so pissed they break their phone.
3.) Took the idea from some one/something else and want's to shut it down while he can be for things escalate to a legal level.

    all I got.

omg It's all a brilliant marketing plan.
    >say it's getting deleted
    >everyone rushes to download it before it is
    >get 50K more downloads
    >decide to not delete it
    >????
    >profit

That could be a true theory but if he's making $50,000 a day on adverts I'm pretty sure he isn't short of money! but that's very possible and it's logic.

Greedy people will do anything to double their income, but yeah... I doubt an independent app creator like him would want to risk his income like that

I really doubt it's closing down, unless he's had some form of legal action taken against him and doesn't want to say.

I'm gonna call BS on this entire thing, guys makin a fortune, that's why he did it. No reason to stop that lol.

What a joke, it's like buying 100 lottery tickets then complaining about winning!

Two weeks ago he would wake up, drink a coffee, walk outside and get the newspaper, take a shit, eat some food, and carry on his business without any distractions.

Because the game got so popular so fast, there are people calling his phone, emailing him, hate mail, suggestions, advertisers losing their mind to make a deal with him.

Probably not what he had in mind when he created the app, if it turns your life into hell then it isn't worth it.

Calling his phone -> Change your number, make sure no one has it that will leak it etc.
Emailing him -> Don't use that email, create a new one.
    Hate mail -> ^
Suggestions -> Ignore the suggestions, it's a simple game, nothing more should be added.
Advertisers losing their mind -> Ignore them.

Not hard to ignore/get rid of all of the stuff that you named. Although, it is a bit stressful, it's worth the money in 99.999% of Americans eyes.

I don't think the ad money stops flowing just because he takes it down from the store?

Wouldn't be surprised if it came back to the app store costing $2.99+

Who actually cares? It's as big as temple run/30 seconds/4pics was and now they're heaps of shit, nobody will even talk about it in a few weeks. Guy's seriously just hunting downloads.

    Lul.

I've actually never played the game it looks like something my 6 year old step son would play. I thought I'd post a thread regarding this because I know many Sythe members are addicted to the game ( Which is pretty sad )

I can see some people care, but the majority don't even give a toss which is rightly so.

This really made me laugh... it's so true as well.

Gotta feel for the guy, just wants to be left alone, although if he really wanted it he would have taken it down instantly. and not waited 24 hours.
