Staying under $400 after your done with everything is almost impossible.

You're missing a bare-minimum graphics card, bare-minimum disc drive. And you haven't even started with an OS.

What is this PC for that you're a low number?

Also, if you plan on using MicroCenter, I can attempt to toss something together maybe for a little less and a little better.

You must not be familiar with APUs? Also nowadays you don't need a disc drive.

I would advise getting some dual channel ram to get the full benefits of your ram and mobo. Here's some: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231455
    Maybe get an ssd too?

Other than that your build looks solid for less than $400.

Don't want a disk drive, I have an os already and I can upgrade to 8 mb. What are the benefits of getting an ssd?

Okay, I rebuilt this from Micro Center for $348.42 with $45 MIR.

No graphics card and no disc drive... Bare bone essentials. The newer AMD chip (6800K, which is 0.3gHz higher than the previous). 8GB of DDR3-1600 RAM, a modular 500W Bronze PSU and a $22 Thermaltake V3 case.

However, that's at my local store. Not sure if you can get the same deals by you.

SSD will allow for faster loading/boot times and faster performance times all around.

Ah yes, I knew I forgot something...

    Anyways:

    CPU+MoBo
    http://www.microcenter.com//site/products/amd_bundles.aspx
Choose either the A10-7850K or A10-6800K with the first board (Asus A55BM-E)

    RAM:

    Case:

    PSU:

    SSD:

^ On sale at the moment
    http://www.microcenter.com/product/397215/128GB_SATA_6GB-s_25_Internal_Solid_State_Drive_(SSD)
    Normal price ^

This puts you a little over your budget, but should come under after MIR. Taxes and everything will also effect you, of course.

Again: This is assuming you can get to your local micro center. - I'm assuming you can since the PSU in your list is from there. If not, you can still order everything online; just be warned they are not known for their online service... I have heard from a friend that they were not very useful in the process either.

I personally have the A10-6800k and I couldn't be happier. Just be sure to get a board that you can crossfire a graphics card down the line.

good build if you ask me. for 400 bucks, you're not gonna do much better than that. I would go 7850k though.

Good thing is, those APU's allow you to crossfire an AMD card with their IGPU. That's right, your Dedicated GPU with your Integrated GPU. Now, if you went with an all-out badass dedicated card, you'd likely BARELY notice the difference. But if you went with a lower-midrange card and crossfired it with the onboard graphics....you'd notice a huge difference.

Personally I don't think an ssd is really worth putting into a $400 build, the benefit of faster boot times and stuff are outweighed by the money that could go into nicer components in other aspects of the build. That's usually something that I put in later, and only in higher end builds.

I agree 100%. at a price point of 400, it's best to just hold off on an SSD, it simply doesn't fit into this budget as a necessity.

The only thing I might suggest to change on this is that I might check out the GTX 760...

If you find one open boxed, it might have a rebate on it. I know one in my local area is a GTX 760 Superclocked for $215.96 + $20 MIR + Free Game.

I personally would also consider a different PSU - Rule #1 of PSU purchasing is do NOT go for the cheapest. Rule #2: Make sure the PSU meets the GPU wattage specs: The GTX 660 requires a minimum of a 450W. Rule #3: If you can go modular - DO IT!

If you are building straight from MicroCenter, go research at the actual website. You will find open box deals, which can really cut down on your prices (just make sure they say complete, etc.). :)

The case you have looks relatively solid, but I will let others chime in on that part. :D

Thanks for your feedback! I just purchased the PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 PCIe Video Card total was $199.99 via code "NJD57OQ"

And I've changed my psu to this OCZ Technology
    FATAL1TY 750W
    ^_^

Also what about my case, I think it looks fairly sharp and it has 3.0 usb not sure what else I would need. :embar:

Reviews of that PSU, make of it what you will: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341041

As I said, the case you are looking at looks fairly rugged and it looks like you prefer the red theme, and many satisfied customers, so it's a perfectly acceptable case.

-This is my own personal opinion- I personally have been trying to get off of the -pretty lights/colors- market and into the silent market since I run a few computers right now AND my main computer does tend to get rather loud. Even with my new case (Fractal Design XL R2 - The case is massive... should've gone with the R4), I still feel like this computer could be more quiet. I did previously run panel-cases such as the NZXT Tempest and Antec 900. They tended to have a distracting lighting (because the case is up on the desk behind my monitors) and were much louder than my current case. Again, this is only my opinion. :)

Aside from the PSU reviews, everything looks solid. :)

Built the computer today, took roughly ~4 hours, it was my first time. Everything works nicely, I ended up getting the black 410 instead of the red, The loudest fan belongs to my psu, everything else is quiet to my standards. I plan on ocing soon maybe to ~4.2-4.6 ghz Thanks for all the help and opinions I appreciate it.
