RS3? Whats so good about it?

Well, I've been playing rs07 and I have been kinda enjoying it. Thing is thought, not a whole lot of people still play it. And of course TONS of people play rs3 and i feel like there is a lot of business for it.

What makes rs3 so much better then rs07?

 

The content. There is so much to do on RS3 in comparison to oldschool.

 

Why is this a thread? BGlave hit the nail on the head for the most obvious answer.

 

I like RS3 mainly for the PvM aspect. Much more possibilities when PvMing.

 

Close to no bots, fun community, constant updates, great pvm.

 

It's not much better. The community is way more split on it than Jagex probably ever anticipated. It's a matter of personal opinion. I think the fact a 7 year old version of the game takes preference for so many people shows you how many mistakes Jagex made in the live game.

 

Or another possibility for that could be an aging userbase that is more familiar with the old system which would suggest that they're not getting enough new younger players to replace the older ones.

True... but I don't mind EoC and I have played since 05. There are so, so soooo many other problems. Plus, this does not seem likely, as people had to restart in 07, a much much much bigger grind for XP than RS3

 

RS3 isn't good which is why a third of Runescape's players decided to give up all of the progress they made on their accounts, and restart on a game that was 6 years dated.

Looks more childish and over-done compared to old graphics, interfaces are awkward and clunky (even the main website), shitty newfag community that're not friendly at all, abilities make it more intense when rs is known for its simplicity and simply cant compete with advanced games like WoW and LoL like its trying to.

 

I just find that rs3 has alot more content to mess around with than 07. And as stated above, rs3 has close to no bots while 07 is packed with them :/

 

more content..but i log on to rs3 every 2 weeks to buy a bond and dont even feel like im on runescape at all, it feels like a lost dead game :c..so thats why i prefer 07

 

Speaking for myself here I really don't understand the new system nor do I have intentions of spending the time to do so. I'd much rather start new on 07 than spend the time to learn this new interface RS3 has provided.

I just don't think a game like RS can compete with WoW and other big players. They should have kept things simple like they were. For those who just want to pick up a game quickly and waste some hours.

 

My favourite part is being able to change setting to my preference. Plus I enjoy the grind for xp.

 

TONS of people play rs3 over rs07? The players on Runescape in the top right-hand corner refers to both rs07 and rs3. According to that, about 1/3 of players at all time are from rs07. I mean during the week its about 18k rs07 players compared to around 30k rs3.

Tbh, if free-to-play was implemented on rs07. It would have more players than rs3.

RS3 is going to be dead. That is why legacy is coming back. With Elder Scrolls Online around the corner..oh man..Jagex better be acting fast and make legacy pretty spectacular.

 

I couldn't agree more. I enjoy WoW's combat system but I don't enjoy it in Runescape. Runescape 3 feels like a chore to play. Just loading it takes 100x as long as it used to.

 

Yep, true story... haha. I've pretty much noticed it. we even got 400k votes, just to get OSRS back.

WoW is amazing, and after 10 years they still haven't ruined like some certain company did... by copying wow's system. and agree with rest, rs3 is boring. I'd rather play a char in WOW from 1-90 then play RS3.

Yeah that's how i feel everytime i log in, it just feels like some boring mmmorpg made by some random cheap video game developer. and it feels pretty much.. dead. and will be.

Yep, it was going fine.. until they ruined it with EOC/RS3 and you can see the effects it had. today! I remember clearly how it was before EOC. So well, like yesterday.

24k OSRS players earlier today! It was really cool to see. It proves how much more popular it seems to be. and it feels always as good to get into osrs and play, same good old armours and simple interface & skills.
Yup, f2p NEEDS to be added into osrs, then RS3 would die hahaha.

Rs3 will die unless JAGEX doesn't fuck up again (legacy)

 

Is that true? Why would they mix both of them up when oldschool has its own player count

Also free to play is horrible and I think it would spread the shit into 07 and flood even more bots. I hear people actually quit 07 because of how boring it is and went back to rs3. Personally i stick to rs3 and use bonds so i can enjoy the game

 

Player count was confirmed by a jmod to have:

1. Players on OSRS
2. Players in lobby

So OSRS would surpass rs3 if F2P was implemented.
