Noob question about bans

Didn't see this answered on stickies, sorry I realize it's a noob question. Basically, I'm thinking of running 1 or 2 bots to gold farm (which I'll sell, no interest in anymore gp on my main).

I keep seeing people talking about high ban rates and I'm just wondering, if I run gold farming bots on my IP address but never bot on my main, or xfer gold to my main, will my main remain safe and unbanned?

While bans by affiliation have happened, they're some of the rarest you'll ever find. Imo you'll have no worries as long as you don't bot on your main and you never have any kind of interaction (or even chained interaction, e.g. your goldfarmers -> other accounts -> you) between the accounts, you'll be fine.

Your main will still be banned. They will notice it's the same IP and then realize the amount of gold, check the logs and put two and two together.

 

They can flag your IP and ban any account that logs onto that IP no matter if they botted or not. Happened to me. Be weary of this, don't take chances.

 

As somebody that has seen the anti macro system first hand, I can confirm your main can and WILL be banned depending on what you're doing.

Running a gold farm will result in your main being banned, botting cooking or some shit doesn't get your main banned unless you repeatedly do it from the same IP.

 

You missed the part where he said his main will have no affiliation whatsoever with the goldfarming accounts. None of the gold from the goldfarming accounts will ever touch his main. For all Jagex knows, there's one person in the household who plays legitimately, and one person in the household who goldfarms. I see no reason for them to ban his main as it isn't committing any breaks of the rules. Worst case scenario his IP is flagged, but that won't matter for his main because it's not doing anything wrong.
