How safe is supervised botting?

I intend to do a lot of skilling, and if possible with bots. I would be watching the bot though, with netflix or somethign on a dual screen. In any case, is it relatively safe to bot if I'm watching?

 

Not like we can really give you any numbers or stats on it really, but, of course when supervising you can (hopefully) avoid more reports by actually responding to people, and also avoid any bot issues by watching it and fixing any mistakes manually. So babysitting IS safer, but that being said you can still defiantly get banned just based on the fact that you're using a bot, regardless of weather or not you're monitoring it. It has happened before.

TL;DR: It'll decrease your chance of getting banned, but not eliminate it.

 

As yohojo said, you got to roll the dice it's not guaranteed that you won't be banned but odds are in your favour if you babysit.

 

I've had several bans on accounts that I watched like a hawk. Ultimately it's not worth it in my opinion. If you have the time to watch the bots that closely, you should just play legitimately instead.

 

As stated above, I wouldn't do it.

I botted 2 hours of iron knives while responding to people etc. Perma banned.

Luckily I know a few mods from events and got an unban :3 Perma's quashed haha.

 

When I bot I usually babysit. I feel that it does prevent quite a few reports because I imagine that half of the bans are due to player reports that players make due to the fact that you don't respond.

That said try to stay away from public scripts and common ones that are easily noticed by Jagex/RS community.

RiD has been down since September. Genesis has been under development since then. There's an ETA of around March. Genesis is designed to allow you to bot almost anything you want, and will show up under investigation, whether automated or manual, the same as you would if you were playing legitimately. Anything that would cause your bot to crash will be fixable by the user without any need for programming knowledge.

I'd suggest premium scripts, even if you are babysitting. The more you can do to decrease the chance of getting banned, the better.
