Navy SEAL

Hey guys, i just signed the papers and enlisted into the US Navy. My job that I picked was the NAVY SEALS. I ship out on May 15th for BT then im off to BUD/s prep school then to BUD/s. Its going to be a long journey but I figured I would tell you guys I'm excited.

Any suggestions on training etc? Currently doing, 89 pushups in 2 mins, 78 sit ups in 2 mins. 25 pullups, 10:24 450M Swim using CSS. 1.5 mile run in 9:07. wanting to knock some time off my swim, any suggestions?!

I've never been through training as intense and demanding as buds....but my best advice would be to obviously not give up. I'm sure you're going to want to quit, but remember how excited you are about it right now today and don't forget it when you're there sucking absolute dick in the sand lol.

The instructor's there aren't against you, none of them have it out for you. Their job is to weed out the weak and unwilling. They are looking for more than competent men to serve with them as a seal. TAKE NOTHING PERSONAL

EDIT: I watched the show two weeks of hell, where it's the initial 2 weeks of training for greenberets or something, and that shit was seriously ridiculous. idk how navy seal training stands against that, but if it's anywhere close gee dude good luck

 

Thanks you guys, they say that SEAL and Pararescue are two of the hardest courses to go through. Because they are a 2 step program. Selection then indoc.

 

Army SF go through a selection process before training also.

Good luck. BUDS is pretty much torture. Should practice holding your breath underwater.

 

From what I've read it looks ridiculous in terms of training. Good luck in what you do, and enjoy your time! Everything is a life experience!

 

Mind over matter will be what gets you through your training.

If you're well motivated and can remain so I believe you can achieve it.

Just wanted to point out, he stated he hasn't started Basic yet and likely just thinks the title of "Navy Seal" would be cool. I wish you luck, but you really should look in to as many prep courses and exercises you can do to prepare yourself for BUD/S along with others. BCT alone won't be enough.

You should also look into some sort of backup in case you decide to change your mind. When joining the military always think about what could benefit you job wise afterwards.

 

Considering that you are posting this on a video game cheating forum for children, I am going to call this out as a cry for attention.

However if its not, you already know you are in relatively good shape, probably more so than 99% of the people on this site. So still a call for attention IMO.

My advice would be to not count your chickens before they are hatched. It will be pretty embarrassing if you fail out (you have not even done basic yet....) after you have already gone and told everyone that you are a seal. You have not joined the navy to be a seal. You have joined the navy to attempt to try out for becoming a seal. And if you fail out, then you will most likely become a "needs of the navy" job. So ya. If real, then take it serious and dont get too cocky.

 

I understand what you're saying, and no not a cry for attention at all. I know there are some athletes out there on this site. Also to be honest the JOB I will be contracted to for the Navy is "SEAL" it will be written on my contract. Of course I have to pass the PST and BUD/S and if not well I will get to pick another job and OR cycle through until I pass. Also I never claimed I was a SEAL at all. Simply stating I am excited to get to even try for it and was looking for some tips on swimming.

 

Also, I found that running with weight prior to going in was a great benefit.

If you're running 9.07 1.5Mi then try doing it in boots rather than your running shoes, also try it with a bag of weights on your back. If you start that now, it wont be quite a shock to the system when they make you do it.

All I got to say is, thank you for joining the navy/air force. Army/marines is so dumb IMO. My friend is in the Navy for bomb defusal. I was on my way till I caught a DUI. Navy/airforce hardly get deaths AND get paid more, and it's exact opposite for army/marines. and tbh, it makes since. brains rule the world, not strength even though i respect every person fighting for my beloved country.
