Do you guys know a law in Digital Distribution....

Law for Digital Distributors that they can't just terminate an account for example, I have a Steam account and they terminated it for a wrong reason but they can't reactivate it. What law is it that they can't just do that?

By the way, my account wasn't really terminated but I received an alert from Steam Support.

Ah, That sucks, Have you tried contacting them to get them to reactivate it? I'm pretty sure that they can, if anything, they can give you a new account with the stuff that you had before. They have the right to terminate it if they feel that you were doing something wrong, but since you weren't, they should be able to do something. Let us know how it goes!

 

I know. I met a guy here on Sythe and he wanted to buy my personal account but I told him no because it is my only account and personal. He said he wants to add me but he said he can't find me and he asked me for my username because he will use it to search me then when I gave it to him, he said "BYE SUCKER" then removed me off and blocked me on Skype.

A few days later, I was dling Max Payne 3 and an alert from Steam Support popped up. I thought it was because of the trade I did last night before that happened, I traded all my cards for just 5 items. I asked the guy whom I traded with and he said nothing happened to him.

I've also asked someone here who sells Steam account and he said that never give your user name to anyone as they can do anything bad with it. The dude told me that the guy might have contacted Steam Support and told them that I was selling the account but I scammed him.

Anyway, do you know the law?

Yes, I have put it up in the ticket when I contacted them that they can terminate any account at any time they want but they can't just terminate an account that never breached any terms in the Agreement.

 

their terms probably say they can, I mean (without you doing anything wrong)

so you cant use law to go about it. but if you havent done anything wrong then following formal channels should sort you out

 

What do you mean by formal channels? But I shouldn't probably be nervous about this. My account wasn't really terminated but it just got an alert from Steam Support. I've updated the thread.

And also, most people who've also encountered this didn't got their account reactivated but it can be use but can't buy, gift, trade. But I asked the guy that got the same problem too that got his account reactivated, turns out that the cause was different.

 

By formal channels he means through proper steam support.
