Tried similar threads in past with little succes, but with the tons of new member I thought I may try it again.

Anyone else like punk? Anything from late 60s proto shit to modern day stuff. Pretty much down to talk about any of it, "hxc" type hardcore aside.

Been really into Mischief Brew lately. Anyone else like them?

Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, Slim Cessna's Auto Club (not exactly super punk), Devil Makes Three, Ramshackle Glory, and anything Chris Clavin is associated with. So many more that I can't remember or don't have time to list.

    Oh yeah and:
Who is that knocking at my door? It's the dreaded landlord! He wants his rent, he wants it now and he doesn't care how.

Speaking of: The Circle Jerks are awesome. So is Rancid and you HAVE to listen to Squirrel Nut Zippers and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

Ehh circle jerks are overrated between them they stole like 3/4 of their material from other bands. Mainly black flag and redd kross (who you should DEF check out).

My gf is actually into big bad voodoo daddy oddly enough. She likes swing and rockabilly so it was a fit. Im not so into rockabilly or the big band stuff so much. Will check out squirrel nut zippers when i get home from work.

Do you know Spoonboy? He does some good folky sounding stuff and some GREAT pop punk with max levine ensemble

Swingiest stuff i generally listen to is asleep at the wheel. Sometimes old crow medicinecshow makes me think swing.

OSCM is more Americana than swing. That being said OSCM is up there on my fav bands list.

I don't know Todd Snider honestly, but I got into Hayes Carll and he is awesome. His songs are so genuine and funny. You have to go listen to the song She Left Me For Jesus.

I can't believe I haven't even mentioned Willie 'Tea' Taylor yet. His song Everywhere Now gives me chills.

You will LOVE todd snider if you like hayes carll . Todd did that Doug stomp and holler by hayes last week on conan with his new band. Check out "in the beginning" and "too soon to tell" seriously.. his songwriting is really witty and has a punk feel to it. He and hayes are probably my two favorite guys in americana right now. I really like the song girl downtown byhayes right now, when he says "pretty as a plate" I lul ereytiem

Listening to willy tea now, seems good. "Letter to zito" almost sounds like Kris Kristofferson is singing. Going to have to listen to it more when im off work

I've heard a few of them and they're not really the type of punk I like. If I listen to Pop-Punk it is probably only going to be The Wonder Years.

I like a lot of 90s pop punk and descendents. Mostly a sentimental thing I guess. But i do love max levine ensemble

Cancer bats have the doomy elements and REAL hardcore elements going for them. When i said "hxc" i mean your generic -core bs. Swoop haircuts and double bass . Dont forget the "dancing".

Let me know when you check out Todd Snider, i have a feeling you will live him

I'm not going to lie, I do like some -core stuff.

I listened to him earlier and he was awesome. Some really cool stuff. Hard Working Americans seemed really cool. I am going to have to find some more stuff.

I think I am going to start trying to write some folk-punk stuff.

You have to listen to the first 3-ish albulms of Against Me! Also it may not be your taste but I used to really like Aiden. They're kind of horror-punk/emo-ish type music but they're pretty cool. Like a more punk AFI.

I don't really listen to a whole lot of punk. It sounds as if you guys have a better idea of the popular and "good" bands can you link me to some suggestions for good punk songs?
