Pre-EoC (Legacy Mode) coming back!!!

The one challenge though, how on earth are they going to make EoC combat and Legacy combat co-exist?

 

Logically, it would be very simple.

 

^What do you mean very simple? If dual wield will still exist, New bosses abilities (etc) its very hard. If you would boss at old combat system you would have a harder time

Even so, if it's actually added it'll still attract some old players back in including myself and my old PKing clan of 30+ members. PKing in EoC is nonexistent.

 

I still stand by my opinion that legacy mode is just a sham to lure players back to rs3. I feel like there is an inter-war in jagex between 07 and rs3, where they need to 1 up the other to get players. I also do not like their choice of words during the video. Some that come to mind is ''close as possible; certain similarities.'' This is basically going to be the beta server that we have access to now but with a pre eoc interface. I reallllllly also do now understand why people are being moronic and trading their 07 gp for lower rates than normal for eoc gp. I mean for fucks sake, no details were even given and people are so fast to jump the bandwagon to sell/trade their hard earned 07 gp for ridiculous, bad prices. And the worst part in all this? we are still winter and the eta is summer. So why in the hell should prices for anything shift so soon. I smell manip. Anyways... Yes I will be trying legacy. I'll probably stick to osrs because I put tons of effort into it.

 

I can't wait to have the option to go back to pre-eoc. Honestly I don't know which I like better anymore - I guess we'll find out soon enough if it passes

dang all that progress on 07 for nothing

 

People are still going to stick to 07 just for the fact that they love that gamestyle or that they don't wanna, as you said, leave all their hard work behind.

It'll be interesting to see how they do this and make the 2 styles of combat co exist without making one have a higher advantage.

I like what Jagex is doing, truly giving power to the players.

 

lol i swear, if this doesn't have all the old armors and old animations, I'll vote NO for this. I don't want to play pre-eoc with some god damned new-Rs crap. like new armors, new everything. :X

and would never start playing again, unless the bring ALL of the older stuff back, just from 2011-2012 i don't want anything newer.

There are overrides for some of the old armors at least. I hope they keep getting added.

 

Totally agree, Nothing will change for you eoc ppl. We are trying something new, not like eoc will be getting rid of lol, its to make Rs alive again

 

After thinking more about this, it may be too late for this to be implemented. Everyone will be upset and disappointed because it wasn't what they expected. Jagex never keep their word and the players can't make up their mind being spoiled brats.

The game has enough separation. When you create 3 different game options and have development teams for those own sections, you break up the better potential updates if they were one.

I think a better idea would be to update oldschool to an older time period like 2010. The game was a much better game then. In the rate oldschool is going, it's getting there.

Another thing people do not realize is "legacy mode" most likely has not started it's development, which means it's going to take a while to create. It would be stupid for jagex to work on it before making the poll.

 

Jagex noted that this update would not be made public until Summer. They of course will be releasing their code to the beta servers they are currently hosting. I wouldn't say it is to late to reserve their updates, but it is definitely going to require a lot of fine tuning until all the bugs are worked out.

Personally I'm disappointed the game is taking this swing. I like the new version, the combat is smooth, the ability system and the newer--high level content being produced with the evolution of combat is a real treat and keeps getting better.

Whatever Jagex decides I'm sure will work out but like evolution of combat--require some getting used to.

 

no way jagex always does stupid stuff like this to give the players who recently quit or are thinking of quitting hope that things are going to finally get better then they will ruin the new setup with garbage that no one wants as always

 

Although its gonna be like pre-eoc, I feel its never gonna be the same especially cuz now there both rs3 and pre-eoc incorporated into the same game

 

Awesome update, tbh anything is better than what we have now.
