I have accumulated a decent amount of NOBL (NobleCoin) from a relatively early stage, and it seems like it has some potential (a very well thought out website, clear intentions from the devs, as well as trying to establish the proper infrastructure needed to support a long term coin, reaching out to merchants, providing payment service options, etc. This is relatively new, so it's still got some way to go, but it's still pretty cheap at around 80 Satoshis per NOBL.

Ethereum is something that's going to be huge in my opinion, although it's not technically a single alt coin. (It's not a coin per say, more of a building protocol, something akin to a universal programming language to allow altcoins to utilize a merged network.)

LEAF (LeafCoin) seems to be the new pump as of late... Over 200+ BTC volume daily on coinmarket.io, and it really offers nothing innovative. I strongly believe that most of the hype behind the boost in Ghash recently for LEAF has been from multipools - A sign of impending doom in the near future.

I'm curious to know if any others have been delving into the alt world lately, and what you've seen out there with something as potential (and provide some reasoning behind it as well.) And thoughts on the three listed above?

I've messed around with DogeCoin a little because they were so easy to get, but they're not really going anywhere quick so it isn't really speculation but I mean if you can get a ton of them for free why not? I might turn $1 into $100 in a year. haha

Right, its probably better to invest in a relatively new coin which is not overpriced and less volatile.

Dogecoin and XNF-NoFiatCoin is looking good to invest at the moment.

Hm. Has anyone tried to arbitrage the DOGE market from coinmarket.io / cryptsy?

Didn't so far. Cryptsy currently buying @ .139 but only about 0.1BTC buy volumes at coinmarket until you reach that price. Nonetheless it's pure profit, go for it ;)

    Cheers!

I'm placing a bit of my BTC into my next coin, which will be RDD (ReddCoin). The developer seems to be diligent at progressing with his agenda of making it the internet tipping crypto. His Reddit RDD tipbot is working as of yesterday, and he's hired some marketing folks to help promote it. KGW has also been implemented as of block 6000+ (reached as of today) so it should be better suited to deal with multipool pump and dumps.

There was a problem with the wallet sync for a few days, and miners couldn't connect to pools, so the price dropped a bit and they lost quite a bit of hashing (5 to 6 Satoshi currently on coinmarket.io), but last week they were trading at around 10 to 14 Satoshi. The wallet problem has since been solved, along with the updates I noted above, and the hash rate has slowly been increasing a bit again. I can see a short term 100% - 200% profit, possibly more depending on how much exposure it can get from the marketers.

On another note, I am still currently following NOBL very closely. I've been chatting with the devs in irc recently, and Rofo (the main developer) is going to announce some information on the beta launch of the Noble Marketplace website, aimed at having an Amazon-esque feel to it. They've also just passed their $4,000 donation mark to The Water Project (on their website), and are closing in on the $5,000 mark. It has been one of the most stable alts (price and development) I've seen in quite a while.
