    Well shit

It's come to my attention that I installed W7 32bit. Is there any significant different between 64 and 32bit? The only major problem I've run into is that most of the programs I have copied to my external harddrive are for W7 64bit and therefore can't install on my machine.

So is there a difference, and is it worth the time it takes to reinstall windows to get the 64bit instead?

No there is no difference, the 64bit means that you can add more RAM to your computer/laptop

If I made that mistake I probably would just bite the bullet and re-install the correct version. Its true that probably the only noticeable performance difference will be in terms of the supported RAM but you also have to take into account the fact that you won't be able to run most 64 bit programs. That in it of itself would be enough to make me want to fix it.

I'm going to reinstal, this is utter bullshit:

I have 8gb of memory. It shouldn't be resting at 70% when all I have open is chrome and skype.

I'll avoid being redundant, you are very accurate in your assessment, Lappy.

I know this to be true since I just did an upgrade from my XP 32bit to Windows 7 64bit and I am not dealing with this issue anymore.

To answer your question, yes there is a difference and yes it's worth it.
