If you could choose one place to retire and live out the rest of your days without having to worry about the cost of living in that location, where would you choose, and why?

For me I imagine it would be someplace tropical or in the country somewhere. Easier to relax that way, but i would still need to be close to some type of major city or town.

Rocky mountains in Denver. I would always stay in the states for retirement. Denver has lots of personal liberty laws, a mountain so you can literally change the weather you want to feel ( sunny day go to the top for some warmth). Plus there are tons of major cities by it. Never be more then 30 minutes from the city.

I'd go and live at Bonaire or a tropical island like that. Love the rest and the warm weather there.

Somewhere in the mountains of British Columbia would be cool, if not I'd probably look to go somewhere tropical down south.

I'd probably choose somewhere in Europe. Something about the atmosphere out there was really appealing to me. The 2 years I spent out there were 2 of the best years of my life.

I would retire somewhere in Europe. I haven't narrowed down specifically where yet because it's a difficult choice to make. I love the atmosphere and by comparison to the US, the people are most genuine in their way of thinking and actions.

Where I was brought up in New Zealand. Just on the outskirts of the city for good restaurants, shops and night-life but also very near to the beach for kite surfing. Loved life there, much more than the shitty UK lol.

Sorry to agree with you, the UK is pretty shitty. -no offense to anyone- New Zealand is a good choice. :)

I mean, it's not horrendous. But moving from somewhere like New Zealand to there was a big shock. The climate isn't my favourite. I like it here in Scotland because the scenery is nice and the people are pretty humble and easy to get along with (also free university woo). But I just prefer New Zealand because of the weather, culture and just the childhood memories I have there :p

I have lived in B'ham, Gorham and Wales. It's still fairly shitty. But just like any place, you have small pockets of cities/villages that are very nice. I was going to say Scotland or Ireland is a better alternative than living in the southern region of the UK.

New Zealand to you is almost like Puerto Rico to me, but I wouldn't want to retire there. Not that there is anything wrong with the island, I would just rather live the rest of my life somewhere where I am not limited by so much ocean between traveling.

If I truly am allowed to retire anywhere I'd like, no matter the cost, I'd want to retire aboard the ISS.

If that's not an option, and you're only talking about earth-bound locations, I guess I'd like to retire in Oslo, Norway.

I liked Olso. I was there for about a month. Though, there are some locals, surrounding Oslo, don't think it's all that great.
